The Great Mass Debater

May not be too bad

Recommended Posts

Lots of positives to take from this game. For once we gave one of the big boys a good fight. We werent the gutless whipping boys were usually are against Liverpool and with a slight change in fortune result might have been different (Sterlings deflected shot doesnt loop in, shot that deflected off Skrtel creeps inside the post).

We''ve shown we havent given up and there were no looks of frustration from the players, just passion.

Two biggest positives - 1. We lost but didnt stuff our GD - could yet be important as we need to keep ours superior to Fulham and Cardiff and similar to Sunderlands

2. Liverpool winning today means they can wrap the title up by beating Chelsea in their next game. Although us beating Chelsea away is unlikely, it is probably more likely we will get something out of that game if they are not fighting for the title - with nothing to play for their players may have one eye on the World Cup and wont want to risk injury.

We were rousing in defeat and psychologically this will mean we will be up for the next game as well, whereas a heavy defeat may have sucked the fight out of us and desperation may set in.

Lots of positives - we''re not done for yet!

Couldn''t agree more mate. Confidence will be boosted by the performance.

As I said in an earlier thread, Adams has also proved that attack is our best form of defence, and the only way we can survive in this league. We''ll always concede sitting back like under hughton, but by always piling forward we might score as well as concede - plus it breeds confidence through the whole ground as well as in the players.

I now have much more confidence about getting something from Old Trafford.

what positives?

Another loss

Another game where we played well for 30-35mins, terrible for the rest

Avoidable goals

Stood off them

Tactics wrong in the first half

Redmond stuck upfront-wtf

Bradley Johnson''s passing

3 games to get 4 points

But positives....

we scored 2 goals

3 games to get 4 points- could happen

If the title is done by then have Chelsea played their Chapions League semi-final by then? The 3rd positive I would take is that we scored more than 1 goal today for the first time in a while. There was also a bit of expectancy that we could nick a third too.

Agreed for the first time in a long while I feel positive about city despite the loss. There is always this lingering if.....we had got rid of CH earlier..but the board will have to live with their blind faith. For me I still think we will pick up another 3 points and that will be enough this season; just. Today I was proud of our team.

Really believe after watching that that 3 points against Arsenal is possible. Arsenal at times can look shocking. If you stand off them and give them time to play their football they can look like world beaters and play some beautiful football (goal against us perfect example), but rough them up, dont give them time on the ball and attack them, then they get rattled and fall to pieces. That game at the Emirates last season we had them beaten until the ref stepped in to ensure they qualified for the Champions League. We stifled their creativity and they dint know how to break us down, getting ever more panicked and frustrated until the ref gave them a get out of jail card. Plenty of teams, especially Liverpool have demonstrated how to beat Arsenal. We''re decent at home and if we still have a chance come the last game of the season (and Arsenal dont need a leg up again) we could definitely beat them

There was a great feeling around the ground at the end of the game, fans and players alike.

That''s the biggest positive you can ask for, when did we last see that after a defeat at CR, good things are on their way.
