Football is a fairly simple game. You look at your players strengths and weaknesses compare those with the oppositions and pick a team and a formation that you think maximises your chances and minimises the oppositions.If it works you win. If its not working you make the changes that will help you to win. If that''s the criteria then Adams did that at his level with the youth team - beating the outright favourites over two games. Who says he couldn''t use that logic to do the same for the rest of the season.As has been said already Hughton doesn''t seem to have a clue how to analyse the opposition, set up to maximise our strengths and minimise the oppositions or adapt during the match.Give Adams a go. The relegation on his CV? It wouldn''t go down to him with only 5 games in charge.

I doubt anyone seriously thinks we will get another point this season, and I just shudder to think how we will be decimated in the last 4 games. As vanwink states we no longer need a manager, we just need a guy to come in and bring belief passion and some tactical thought. The other "managerial" stuff can wait. This is no long term need just a 5 game brief to do what you can to scrape a few points. Sunderland did it with dicanio, Adams might just do it for us.

What has he done to prove that he could save us? Why would the players respect him any more than CH? He was hardly a well-known player. He has had major success with the youth team, but it''s a totally different game with the first team squad.

 

I want CH out asap, he is clearly not good enough, and it is clearly not working, but a sentimental appointment isn''t what''s needed right now. I''m not sure Adams would even take the job after what happened to Gunn, it will surely be at the forefront of his mind if it were offered to him.

 

As for asking the players opinion on who should be manager....
