Gingerpele 0 Posted March 9, 2014 A draw for them would have been a great result for us today.An extra game to re-arrange and a possible home win in replay so extra semi-final game would have almost guaranteed their relegation.They are still going to have to play an extra three midweek games. Will the semi-final affect Hull''s league form. Will Sunderland hit the league games running and pick up points or will they stutter and find the games in hand too much of a burden? Trevor Hockey's Beard 526 Posted March 9, 2014 There was a statistic on TV about 5 out of 8 of Spurs''s lost games coming after a Europa Cup game.I know that fans of Wigan and Sheffield United will disagree, but for most clubs in the bottom half of the Premiership and the top half of the Championship playing in any cup competitions is an unneeded distraction.How long before a team clearly throws a cup game - as opposed to just playing their reserve team?
