no1canary 0 Posted February 1, 2004 What is Worthy gonna do against Wimbledon? Will it be the same that beat Sheffield, rest Roberts 4 Svensson?, play Huckerby on the left or right?, somehow put McKenzie in?, rest Huckerby?!, play 4-2-4 or 3-3-4 and play all of them? I really haven''t got a clue! This is the best strike force that we''ve had for atleast over a 5 years now, in my opinion.Who do u think will start our next game? NorwichAreBack 0 Posted February 1, 2004 He has to play the same team that started yesterday surely, Iwan does not need a rest as by next week it will b 1 game in 20 days! Its obvious that Leon has done well so far, and also Svensson but at the moment Leon does not fit into the team and Iwan is playing well. Hucks on the left leaves us far too exposed adn we lose our shape that has been crucial to our success this season.I think that its a case of if it aint broke.... susie b 0 Posted February 1, 2004 As we are away and Wimbers are short on confidence, plus some of their best players have recently left, I think we might go back to the 4-3-3 like we had at Rotherham. If we do, I feel sure that there will be a bit more thought during the week as to how to help the defence out when necessary as they were rather exposed at times at Millmoor. I guess that reverting to this formation would mean McKenzie returning to the side, with either McVeigh or Jimbo making way (harsh on either of them). It will also be hard to drop Iwan after yesterday, even with Matty fit, but what a great headache for Worthy to have and a contrast to previous seasons! morty 0 Posted February 1, 2004 4-3-3 Iwan, hux and Mckenzie up front with Brennan dropped to the bench. Score a bagful of goals then sub Mckenzie or iwan for brennan and revert to a 4-4-2. 3 points and the canary goal machine goes marching on!!
Windy 0 Posted February 1, 2004 Not that I necessarily think this is a good idea, but can you imgine the looks on opposition defenders'' faces if we lined up 4-3-3 with Iwan, Matt and Hux up front!?
NorwichAreBack 0 Posted February 1, 2004 I like the sound of that actually windy, and imagine the amount of flick ons there would be for the almighty one to chase!
MadDan 0 Posted February 1, 2004 Stop being so girlieLets go for itRoberts, Svensson, Jarvis and Mackenzie up frontMcVeigh and Huckerby down the flanks Francis and Brennan to feed them the ballwith Holt, Shackle and Fleming covering the goalGreen can have a rest as we''ll be playing ''rush goalie''bang in seven or eight and shove up the old goal difference no subs - anyone wanting to come off will get the old magic sponge down the shorts for 30 secs and told to get back on and get on with it !ps anyone not fit next saturday can be replaced by EastonI know he''s not seemed to be up to it but here''s his chance to prove himself
ZLF 330 Posted February 1, 2004 The only downside of yesterdays performance was the performance of Jim ''Dot'' Brennan and McVeigh. Brennan had what I felt was his worst performance in a city shirt & McVeigh continues to look lost on the right, although McVeigh improved considerably in the second half.McVeigh is not the solution to our wide right issue and is far more effective on the left where his link work with Hux has been superb - & was missed yesterday. Within the current squad that does only leave Hendo or Briggs to play wide right. Our only attempt at playing 4-3-3 led to a relatively impotent Millers side scoring 4 against us despite being down to 10 men for 45 mins. Their confidence was not much better than Wimbledons so I would stick with the 4-4-2 that gives us the defensive security & attacking options that have only taken us to the top of the table....Iwan or Mackenzie? Hmm, a player with 2 goals in last two starts or one with 4 goals in his last 5 games - what a fantastic position for NW to be in! Personally I would go with Leon as away from home the gaps will be there for the pace of him & Hux to exploit but after Iwans performance yesterday, and how well he played against the Dons earlier in the season, I am happy to go with whatever NW goes with.OTBC
