Waveney Canary 0 Posted March 25, 2014 What skill set and behaviours would you want from a potential new manager. Ideally I would like the following1) Ideally have competed in and won the Champions League2) Having played abroad ideally Germany who are leading the way at the moment3) Played International Football for their country4) Ideally a British Manager5) Someone who already has a connection with the club.If this was the criteria for selecting the next Manager I think we would get the appointment spot on.Any Thoughts? on this or suitable names that meet the criteria? It's Character Forming 1,160 Posted March 25, 2014 If it''s a premiership manager, I''d say it is essential to have a significantly better Prem record, in terms of points achieved, than Hughton over the period since Hughton joined us.Now let me think... that would rule out the Villa manager if, purely hypothetically, people were wanting to imply he would be a good idea. But I''m sure they aren''t, that would be utter nonsense anyway....

Mind you, I suspect he actually follows a team down the A140 that are, yet again, failing to achieve anything in the Championship. Can''t remember the name - they never get any coverage in the media...

can u sit down please 0 Posted March 25, 2014 Believes In an attractive yet effective brand of football and has managed in either the prem or one of European elite leagues. Rene Girard would be nice. That for me would seal it.

[/quote]Those are mostly irrelevant paper qualifications rather than attributes. Attributes matter more. Arrigo Sacchi, for example, didn''t play professional football at all, but was a fine manager. If we did make a change the one attribute I would most look for would be tactical nous. We will always have comparitively cheaply-assembled squad, so a manager who can wring the most out of it is vital.
