Sunderlands defeat last night By Luke Edwards- Daily Telegraph

Sunderlands defeat last night By Luke Edwards- Daily Telegraph. As rousing as the finale was, though, it was the hour of predictable, slow passing football that preceded it that is why they are second from bottom and four points adrift of safety. Gus Poyet has tried to make them hard to beat, but in doing so, they have found it difficult to beat anyone.Statistics showed they had 26 attempts on goal, but Adrian (West ham GK) still had a relatively quiet night. It has been a problem since August. Sunderland cannot turn pressure and possession into goals.. This was the latest must win game they have failed to win. Does anyone else see the a familiarity here with other failing teams - one team in particular.A recipe for Premier League failure ?

Perhaps, but at least we have had the knack of winning our "must-win" games this season.

Besides which, Sunderland had several good chances last night and poor finishing cost them. Definitely a familiar story.
