pete 318 Posted April 3, 2014 Would the FA or Premier League take action now over something that happened in August. Hope they do?
Divs crew! 0 Posted April 3, 2014 Why would they not? It affects this season and if rules were broken then they should be deducted.
Barry Brockes 145 Posted April 3, 2014 I understand the matter has already been dealt with. They were fined and the case is closed.
Mr Brownstone 0 Posted April 3, 2014 Yup, if the FA were informed in December and dished out an under the radar fine then I don''t see Sunderland facing any further punishment. The real question is why are the FA dishing out under the radar fines for serious rule breaches? hobgoblin 0 Posted April 3, 2014 The report states that they have already been sanctioned by the Prem league under the radar! Seems a bit suspicious to me.
ZLF 271 Posted April 3, 2014 Typical Mail - inflammatory headline bearing no relationship to reality. Any turmoil has long since passed. The article suggests that the punishment has already been made, a substantial fine made in Dec. Mind you a 1 point punishment (all that could be removed) wont make much difference - but the legal challenges will be interest if they survive by that point - Jonathon Pease will be interested...It seems to be within the rules that a points deduction can be avoided but the clandestine way in which this has been handled by both the prem league and the FA (for the league cup - they should have been automatically kicked out) shows that all our authorities bleating about alleged Qatar/FIFA corruption is hypocritical at least. Once again our games authorities show themselves to be weak and obey rules only when it suits them. Simply embarrassing.
