Just so you know...

Recommended Posts

So on one side we have someone renewing their season ticket because they were given the ''nod'' by someone at the club that he will not be here, someone at the club (could the same person) and a journalist who say he''s leaving. Not only that but he''s agreed to go.

Then there''s the estate agent who has sold him a house. Could be an investment, if he''s going then he''ll have a years salary as a pay off.

Unless we hear from some tradesmen who will be doing stuff to the house before he moves in (photo''s of said tradesman with CH in his slippers will be allowable evidence) then I''ll be convinced that he''s either going or staying.
The latter post was something I wrote weeks or months ago!

The information I''ve been told within the last week by someone at the football club AND a journo well connected at Carrow Road is that Chris Hughton''s final game as Norwich manager will be against Arsenal on Sunday 11th May.

Hughton was right to deny the online report that he knew his Norwich career would end this summer. What else could the man do? Say the article was correct?

When the season ends, Hughton will have one year left on his deal. He went to the board in January for an extension. He didn''t get it because we were not performing well. Talks continue but results didn''t improve. A mutual decision was reached that Chris would leave the club at the end of the season. It''s all done.
None of that makes any sense......Why would he be asking for an extension to a three-year contract halfway through it, especially just after a very poor Christmas period? No-one would be that foolish. He would know that summer would be the earliest time to make such an inquiry but next Jan even more-so.Then you tell us "a mutual decision was reached that Chris would leave the club at the end of the season". If that was the case, it would suggest that neither party was happy with the other. We all know what happens when clubs aren''t happy with their managers and giving them six months notice has never been an option. And if Hughton, who was happy to sign a three-year deal just eighteen months earlier and then ask for an extension, would suddenly be prepared to walk away with a year left on his existing contract defies all logic. Why would someone who is (allegedly) looking to stay here for more than three years suddenly decide to leave after two?And finally, As LDC said, if private details of any meetings between McNally and Hughton got into the hands of a journo, they would be splashed all over the media by now.So, stop listening to tittle-tattle and trying to convey it as FACT 1901, you''re making yourself look silly.

Maybe he was asking for an extension because the house he was buying in Cringleford was in a good location but he wanted something bigger?

Have any local builders been asked to quote for an extension in the Cringleford area?

It''s a shame that Robert Chase is no longer a board member as when CH approached the board for an extension Robert would have been able to sort that out.

Because that''s how it works... Say he won the next 7 (i know it''s massively unlikely) but we''ve ''already sacked him'' how stupid would we look!

I think there are already plans in place for life after him as is standard at any club but if the board wanted him gone, he''d be gone now.
Come on, LDC, you know you think I''m right. No harm admitting it. The fact that Hughton has bought a house makes absolutely no difference at all.
But the fact that you can''t name the journalist does.

As a Hughton Outer, I would be very happy if  your post turns out to be true YellowNets. However, I do have difficulty with this information apparently having leaked into the public domain, but only as far as yourself, your journalist and no-one else.  Having been brought up on a pig farm I am used to seeing many breeds of pig but still I''ve yet to see a flying one.[;)]

Information obviously didn''t come from Twitter. If you read my post properly, I said that my journo pal is a regular twitter user.

I''m very relaxed in the knowledge that I''m right. This thread will get lost between now and the end of the season, but when the day comes that NCFC announce this news, I will gladly bump it up for you. I''ll sit back and await your apologies, your praise and your admiration.

Next time you see him, ask him why his story hasn''t been publicised, which if true, would be quite an important story and give him much cudos in the world of journalism.   Its his profession, after all - so if true, why wouldn''t he get it published?  The only conclusion is that he can''t because it is not verifiable, is a non story and is therefore no better than gossip or wishful thinking.    If it was true and he was certain of it and he has any credibility as a journalist,  a newspaper editor would publish it  and then let the club either deny  or confirm it.   Sorry to disappoint you.

I won''t be posting anymore on this thread until the parting of ways happens. Then you can all apologise. Each apology will be accepted. I don''t hold a grudge. Until then...
