Gets it right at last

Recommended Posts

Hughton must get credit but possibly the first time this season. Listening to Canary Call and after today everything is rosy and Hughton outers all misguided. CH got it horribly wrong from Hull second game of season when played two defensive midfielders. But lets hope he gets it right for the rest of the season.

Unlikely but just maybe.

He hasn''t always got it wrong - that''s a silly sort of thing to say.

He got it spot on against West Ham. We also got it right against Chelsea, but just didn''t have enough in the tank to keep it up for the full 90.

We have played almost every single conceivable and viable formation this season - so it has not been through want of trying.

And then throw into the mix when the last time was that we could actually select that midfield?

You are correct doesn''t get it wrong every time certainly most of time. West Ham are you sure only got back into it from a fortunate penalty, Chesea ok. CH has tried to tinker too often e.g. two up front has not worked. As for the midfield when we played Tettey, Fer and Howson against Stoke etc. the midfield looked good perhaps Tettey''s the difference.

Having Tettey in the side, sitting in front of the defence, allows Fer to get forward and play his more natural game. Tettey is crucial but Howson even more so imo, as Fer looks 10 times better when he has Howson alongside him compared to having Johnno there.
