Rays Funds for the CSF with the Pink un Pickers Week 27

Recommended Posts

Greetings PUPs and welcome to week 27 of the Rays Funds season. After

last week’s record breaking 5th win from Yankee this week we have

another of our all time greats who will give us every chance of following it up.

Because this week we have Trent Canary in charge and making the final selections.

Trent is also a previous winner of the final six as well as sitting proudly at

the top of our PUPs league with 26 wins from 26 weeks. Six months of correct

picks! I struggle to be right for 6 weeks!! Trent is another who always

supports us on this thread and I know tries to find a selection that’s original

whenever possible. He is another rock in the great team we have this season.

But good as Trent is he will need us to provide the ammunition. Don’t

forget for your selection to be considered it must be played on Sat/Sun/Mon and

be listed on Bet365 or William Hill websites. This rule about Bet365 and Bill

Hill is important. I don’t like making rules but if a game where there’s no

price gets selected I can’t place the bet.

I’ve provisionally arranged the rota for March. Please indicate with

your picks if these weeks are ok : -

01/03/14 Meth Canary

08/03/14 Newcastle Uni Canary

15/03/14 Norfolkchance 1

22/03/14 GMF

29/03/14 Diesel Doris

Now PUPs when our club''s results are particularly disappointing I am always glad to

have this thread as a distraction. So here’s a little something to be cheerful

about. Quite by chance when trying to explain Rays Funds to someone on Monday I

came across this stat. We have now had 52 winning weeks with the final six. So

that’s a whole year of wins! This is our 7th season so I guess that’s

not really surprising but it still made me sit up and think. I am so proud of

these threads and all you PUPs

There’s no Norwich bet this weekend. I''ve been trying to recruit some

new PUPs from the board but still drawing a blank. Still, I have a week to

continue to try. If not I’m sure I will easily fill the weeks from within our

present group.

Now Ill hand the thread over to Trent Canary.

Remember theres no pressure because we are

all going to do our best to help you get x2 by your name in the Rays Funds Hall

of Fame. We all stand together with the single aim of raising money for the

Community Sports Foundation

Good luck all you PUPs... Take it away Tom ... the thread is

yours.......[:)]..........

As always I leave you with

Rays signature which now reads :-

Carve their names with

pride.Yankee,5,Fellas,3,P''boro,2,Mr Chops,2,NewYork,2, Inch High,3,

Thanks for the kind intro NN. As always, a big hand to you for keeping this thread going. It is a fantastic cause, and is a place of sanity compared to the main board.Sat in a hotel room in Manchester (I can see why the City game has just been called off!) so had a look through the fixtures. Looks a fairly decent week, but as always I will need as many different picks as possible. No idea whether I will go safe/value, but I can assure that each pick will be looked at in detail.

Basel to win at home in the Swiss Super League. Currently 4/11 with bet365.

Nutty, I won''t be able to do the weekend of 1st March as I will be in Reading at my brothers 60th party

but would be more than happy to swap for a different week if anyone else is willing. Would hate to miss out this season

but would totally understand if that''s not possible.

Anyway good luck Trent and all PUPs

My first foray into this thread, and I''m going to back Benfica to win away at Paços Ferreira. You might get slightly longer odds as it''s an away game, but the gulf in class is huge and the league leaders should win comfortably against the bottom side.

Additionally, Benfica will be high on confidence after winning the Lisbon derby against Sporting in midweek.

Thanks Nigel, happy to help – I''ve done fundraising for CSF myself and it''s a great charity.

Portugal for me please.Sporting Lisbon to beat Olhanense.

FTW welcome on board. Why dont you take up Nuttys challenge of the Norwich bet? He is looking for new talent and as an ex fund raiser I''m sure you''d do nicely .

Please could either you or Nutty furnish me with more details? If there''s anything I can do to help the CSF then it''d be my pleasure.

Basically you have a 5 pound bet (can be split up as you want, for example 5 £1 bets etc.) to bet on each Norwich game.

Anything from goal scorer, final score, result

Gives us a second chance to earn some valuable winnings!

Absolutely horrific quadruple post going on here, but if you need someone to take the reins of the Norwich bet at any point I''ll happily have another go if there''s no other options Nutty :)

An anonymous benefactor kindly donates £5 each week for an extra bet on the Norwich match. No game this week. But when there is PUPs put forward suggestions which may be goalscorer, correct score, HT/FT or any of the countless options available and then the nominated PUP selects from them or their own. Either one £5 bet or upo to five different bets. We''ll be doing it next week for the Spurs game so you can see. Would you then take the Villa game for us buddy?

Gravy I wasn''t ignoring you. Thanks for your offer. Please could you look after the match bet for the Spurs game?

Watch this space AJ. I''m grateful for the help and support. Trying desperately to use the bet as an opportunity to get some new posters on board. Some of us have been around so long we must resemble dinosaurs!! But hopefully you will get another turn too.

Welcome Feedthewolf. Trent will be as chuffed as I am that you are helping him. Please stick around buddy[Y]

 [/quote]

I certainly am, welcome feedthewolf. Good pick also, you are right the gulf in class is fairly big over there so looks a great value pick.

Thanks for all the suggestions so far - Would suggest that if anyone goes for the lower leagues to have a backup ready, seen quite a few postponements lately. Also I will be bearing in mind any champions league/cup activity which may lead to some teams rotating. But a great spread of selections so far [Y]

I''ll happily do the Norwich bet – although I must warn you, I''m just about the unluckiest person ever when it comes to betting with real money. Managed to win 0 out of 13 races at the dogs last week, and there are only 6 dogs in each race!

I lived with a bookie for several years so I have a good understanding of betting patterns, but every time I actually bet on anything I tend to lose ;)
