I was curious the other day as to what others thought of Pearce as a potential Norwich Manager. I was listening to one of the Cup games over the weekend where he was co-commentating. He did ok with the U21''s and he seemed very knowledgeable with some of his comments/observations. Also apparently looking to getting back into football.

I have watched the footballing style transformation of our U21 side since he was sacked and Southgate came inThe 6-0 thrashing of Scotland was one of the best team passing displays I have ever seen from an England side.I watched them play under Pearce and they looked like Stoke, big man up front and lump it.I think he needs to look at a much lower level of team to rebuild a shattered reputation.

Heard an interview Pearce gave where he talks about struggling to pick a team. He was in bed with his wife and he asked her opinion on the team. She had to point out he had picked 11 outfield players and no keeper. True story.

You''re Stuart Pearce. You''ve taken over from Chris Hughton and its currently 2-2 at home to Arsenal on the last day of the season with 5 minutes to go. Its good, but its not good enough, you need three points to survive. You''ve played with Hooper up front on his own, but he''s looking tired and you need a goal. You decide to sub him. Next to you on the bench is your £8-12m (according to different sources) record breaking striker, Ibrahimovic''s strike partner for the Swedish national side, an Argentine who scored lots of goals in the division below, and Mark Bunn. Who do you bring on to change the game? Hmmmmm

Vlad - I remember hearing something similar - he picked a 4-4-3 formation - but it might have been Peter Reid?

We''ve not seen Camilla Canary for quite some time and I bet The Captain gets lonely, I''d have thought Pearce would have been the ideal candidate to pucker up dressed as a giant yellow bird?

Cr@p football manger though.

Badger: This story was when Pearce was in charge of Forest.

"He admitted in an interview with Match of the Day, that in his first attempt at picking a starting eleven, he did not realise until it was pointed out to him by his wife that he had omitted goalkeeper Mark Crossley. However Forest won the game 2–1, coming from behind after an Ian Wright goal with 2 goals from Alf-Inge Håland."

Just found it online mate.

Does this answer your question?"And not much like David James, whose move up front for Manchester City

in the final moments of the 2004-05 season gave Stuart Pearce''s start to

life as the City manager its distinctive hue. "There were still two

minutes of normal time remaining, plus five for stoppages," wrote Daniel

Taylor, in the Guardian, "when Stuart Pearce, adopting a form of

leadership that would have been wacky even by Brian Clough''s standards,

had the brainwave of replacing a midfielder, Claudio Reyna, with his

reserve goalkeeper, Nicky Weaver, and ordering David James to play as a

centre-forward."
