Dubai Mark 0 Posted February 21, 2014 Oh,,,,,it''s Manchester United''s manager doing it not Hooooghton..........and there was I thinking only our manager did such a thing........(Pulis has done a great job though hasnt he, top manager!)Moyes said: "He has showed all his experience. A lot of people were writing Tony off during his time at Stoke but he hasn''t half gone in there and made a few people eat their words." Pulis left Stoke in May after seven years in charge and replaced Ian Holloway at Palace five months later. He has led them to seven wins from 15 matches in all competitions. "You can talk about whatever you want, but results are what matter and you have to think about where Crystal Palace were and where they are now," Moyes said on whether their style of play was worse under Pulis. "What matters to Tony is results and he''s very good at getting them. "Tony always has his sides well organised and well drilled. The players are made well aware of how he wants them to play and what''s expected from them. "He''s had great success throughout his career. He''s been a really successful manager in the Premier League."
Gingerpele 0 Posted February 21, 2014 Most managers do it... Still don''t understand why people get upset about it.
Gingerpele 0 Posted February 21, 2014
MOYES OUT!
That is a valid point.I''m a better manager than him, won the Quad on football manager 2014. Bought Ronaldo back, sold the deadwood like Nani, Young even useful ones like Kagawa, Hernandez & Evans. Got them playing lovely football, dominating. I personally think they made a huge mistake not appointing me manager.
Ray 111 Posted February 21, 2014 Ginger pele,Most managers do it... Still don''t understand why people get upset about it.Fergie didn''t and love him or hate him, he was damn good. Mourinho doesn''t do it, he plays games but never talks up the opposition, sometmes after a game but not before, Wenger doesn''t do it either. The question is are they good managers because they don''t do it or don''t they do it because thery are good managers?Bottom line appears to be, if you have confidence in your team to produce their best and in your ability to get this from them using tatics that control the game, then the oppo should be worried about you. priceyrice 123 Posted February 21, 2014 Is it not pretty obvious why the managers do it; it''s to try and lower fan expectation as a weak attempt to keep the fans off their back!
Bury Yellow 2 Posted February 21, 2014 Yep well I can''t wait for our exulted manager to rally the troops for this important game with his marvellous personality.
fredherring 136 Posted February 22, 2014 I literally just watched mourinho on SSN talking about how Everton are a good side and there on merit.Of course all managers big up the opposition. It lowers expectations. Only a message board moron with an agenda against his own clubs manager would say otherwise. Oh.
Ginger pele,Most managers do it... It's Character Forming 1,160 Posted February 22, 2014 Most managers are respectful before a game to avoid anything that the other manager can pick up and use for motivation.Mourinho gets into mind games by picking something specific and mostly it''s the other manager not the players.
I''d say the evidence provided points towards it being much easier to be bullish before a game if you happen to be manager of a top team Like Man Utd, Arsenal or Chelsea than say Norwich a team whose entire annual wage bill isn''t as much as Wayne Rooneys new contract alone or as much as any of those teams can or have paid for players. Of course now Man Utd are no longer a top top team their manager is not in quite such a strong position as their previous manager therefore he can''t really be seen to be bullish point proven!
