Results watch 2014.

Recommended Posts

Well it''s another one of those Saturdays where we''re not playing so I am quietly keeping an eye on other results.

At the moment the scores are:

Everton 1 - 0 West Ham

Fulham 1 - 3 Chelsea

Hull 1 - 3 Newcastle

Stoke 1 - 0 Arsenal

Out of the four fixtures you would probably want West Ham, Fulham, Hull and Stoke to lose. So 3 out of 4 isn''t bad.

As Ricardo often says, we don''t want to rely on other results, on other teams form but it does certainly help.

Fulham are really looking like dead certs now. 21 points with ten games to go. Theoretically 19 points from the magic 40 leaves them having to get at least 6 wins from the last ten. Just not looking likely.

So then the how many points question raises it''s ugly head again. Some have said 36 points. But that would still require another 15 - or five wins.

Cardiff are only a point better off and in the same camp really.

if you look at the fixtures for tomorrow you have Spuds v Cardiff, Swansea v Palarse and Villa v us

If I was to predict those results it''d be wins for swansea and spuds and a draw between us and villa. that''d leave the bottom of the league as follows

10 Swansea 28 31

11 West Ham 28 31

12 Hull City 28 30

13 Stoke 28 30

14 Aston Villa 28 29

15 Norwich 28 29

16 C Palace 27 26

17 West Brom 27 25

18 Sunderland 26 24

19 Cardiff 28 22

20 Fulham 28 21

and it starts to look like a five team relegation battle. Yes there are a few ifs but west brom''s game in hand is sunderland and sunderlands other game in hand is man city. not that long ago the bottom 11 teams were separated by 6 points...

Stoke win was very bad for us. We are playing Stoke soon, although at home, but we dont need Stoke gaining confidence

Sunderland leading vs. man C in the League cup is also bad for us. We dont want Sunderland to gain confidence. Hope for a crushing turnaround from Man C

They beat Man City in the league in November and picked up 2 points in the next 6 games.
You''re worrying about something that has no basis in fact.

There is only one team that can keep Norwich in the premier league and that would be Norwich. we have a run of games coming up where we should be picking up enough points to stay up.

with Fulham and Cardiff both looking increasingly doomed we only have to stay above one other team and we are better than more than one other team in this league.
