Benteke hasn''t hit the heights of last season but we all know what he is capable of and we just didn''t make it difficult for him.

 

Probably would have had a better chance with Turner because he is our strongest defender but Yobo and Bassong should be doing better.

You''re making it up but so did many other people at the time.

 

Lukaku was marshalled very well by Bassong when he was central and other times he was often playing from the wing.

 

But somehow Bennett got loads of praise (probably started by Rob Butler) for keeping Lukaku quiet - even though he rarely had to deal with him and the credit should have gone to Bassong.

 

Bennett was mainly tasked with marking the flop striker they had. Rosenberg was it?

We sat so deep for Benteke''s first goal. How many goals are scored from overhead kicks from 40 yard passes from behind? Second goal , my mum would have scored given Bassongs defending.

 

And.,as has been mentioned, Villa haven''t scored in 4 games or whatever it was? Along come City....

 

But as we went one up so we dropped. And dropped . Considering we were supposed to have two defending mids in front of a back four it was dire.

GJP - If you''ve got time look at the home game against Villa at the end of last season. Ryan Bennett absolutely battered Benteke in the air all game long - and very, very few defenders do that to Benteke.
