Laudrup out!

Recommended Posts

Swansea are only one point ahead of us yet their fans have the common sense to recognise that they''re in a competitive league and chopping and changing managers isn''t going to help. Why do so many of our fans want to go the same way as Wolves and QPR?

"Managers are responsible for results and players are responsible for performances, and bringing in new blood could give the shower of sh*t we currently have playing a good kick up the ar*e they deserve.

Seems Tony Pullis has done this at Palace.
It seems some fans would rather be entertainingly relegated than slogging out results that keep us up. Or should we be playing Pulis-style?
Please stop. We aren''t even slogging out results. You don''t even have a point. At least if we were getting decent results, then watching the same football as last season could be overlooked. But right now we are cr@p AND losing.

These comparisons are so desperate!

I do believe they have played 7 games more than us this season, are still in the FA Cup, Still in the Europa Cup, play better football than we do, Won a trophy last season, finished higher than us with a far superior goal difference, score more goals than us, concede less than us and are competitive in every game.

We can only dream!
Football isn''t about "right now", it''s about the course of a season. We''re in 15th. Are we going to sack the next manager if we have a winless streak?
So what you''re saying is, despite the signs that we are looking like relegation certainties, and going out with a whimper, you need to wait until after the 38th consistently bad performance when it''s too late, and change the manager then?
Thank god the decision isn''t yours to make. He''ll be gone soon, so look forward to a positive change which is much needed.

Well, not only are they that point ahead, their summer signings are performing, they''ve done well in Europe, they are league cup holders and they play entertaining football and have managed to keep their goal difference well in check.

It''s funny how we could overtake them at the weekend!

No I''m saying we''re not looking anything like relegation certainties. People are panicking over the inevitable peaks and troughs of a season. We were also supposed to be relegation certainties for much of last season.

We had more points at this stage last season, and just had a 10 game unbeaten run. There was less long term failure to point to. Not now though, its been a year of dross, and we are well behind on points we had at this stage in the previous 2 seasons.
Look at our points gained and goals scored, and conceded. We are going backwards in every department.

How many other teams that have been promoted to the EPL have consistently improved, points-wise, season-after-season? All of them fail to reach the same total as the previous season eventually, surely? Why do some of our fans think we have the God-given right to improve our league position every single year where other comparable teams do not?

The problem is that many of our fans think 3 points from 10th is acceptable but 3 points from bottom isn''t. In fact I think 99% of us do.

I dont think anyone has actually said this. Every fan of NCFC know''s we are only 3 points from 10th.

Why do the reasons have to be spelt out every time?

There is no evidence what so ever that our dire football and slipping league position is going to change!

Yes but the league table still has us 3 points from 10th. In a Nancys ideal world 3 points off bottom would be no where near 10th. But the league table is the real world and we are right in the mix of clubs that BOTH the Percys and Nancys expect us to be in.

Absolutely. I think some of Hoot''s small coterie of fanatical supporters must have "altered vision", so that through their eyes that ugly, boring dross that his team serves up looks beautiful.

And in the real world Nutty Swansea are above us, playing good football, competing in 2 cup competitions, competing in Europe, have a progressive, inventive, inspiring and forward thinking manager.

We are in a terrible run, playing disjointed, disorganised, uninspiring football, have gone out of 2 cup competitions early and with a whimper, with an uninspiring, desperate, stale manager.

One team has bags of confidence, the other looks shot.

Which one would you have the most confidence with?

Yes we are 3 points from 10th, we are also 2 points from relegation and 3 from bottom.

Do we look most likely to claw back those 3 points to get 10th or concede points to others and drop?

Swansea play much better football have been without michu and Dyer for most of the Christmas period and have had to play a Europa league group fixture list.

Now we have an injury list too...but what are the excuses for the bad football and lighter fixtures list?

Yet they haven''t won for 7 games, are 2 points off 10th and 4 points off bottom.

I don''t think they play great football either, sideways, sideways, sideways. The goal they scored at Carrow Road would have given Pulis an erection. Great football that, route 1 Wimbledon style.

Their wonderful forward thinking manager was a brilliant player but hasn''t been forward thinking enough to get one over on our desperate, uninspiring stale one either.

I personaly agree that they play a bit better football than us, but not that much that people tend to think because what is written in media. Swanselona is a term that makes them look a much better than they really are.

About their players giving their best in every game , I just want to point out players like Johnson and Snodgrass who run end to end day after day and even thought they have bad games more than often this season, they always give their best.

Our players are not given up any more than Swansea''s and they do what they can on the field apart from few, but that is case in every other club too.

I would just want to add that you clearly see what continental manager do for team. They might not be that much succesful, but looking Everton, Swansea and Southampton they tend to look a bit more fluid than they were under their english predecessors.

But at the end points tell you that Swansea haven''t been any better team in real world than us. They might have been more stable, but we are only point away.

Warren,

Swansea last 6 games:

Norwich (A) 1-1 Draw

Everton (H) 1-2  Lost

Chelsea (A) 1-0 Lost

Aston Villa (A) 1-1 Draw

Man City (H) 2-3 Lost

Man Utd (A) 2-0 Lost

Don''t forget FA Cup win against a certain Man Utd!

That is a pretty tough run of games tbh and they competed in all of them!

Take a look at the teams we played during this period and see the comparison.  Yes we held them to a draw and even beat them last year.  Yet there forward thinking manager got them a trophy last year, has qualified for the latter stages of the Europa cup, beat Man Utd in the FA Cup at OT are scoring goals, if they lose it is not heavily and not without competing hard.

So in the league they have no win in 7, but have actually won a game in that time against quite a decent team in a rather important game. I would take some comfort from that as a fan.  Wouldn''t you?

If you cannot see beyond the dire football and what is the cause of it then much else is pointlessMaybe you should watch the pitch a bit more and the league table a good deal lessBecause the former will determine and is determining the latter, not the other way round. The consequences of Hughton failing management skills will have far reaching consequences beyond this season. The hole he is digging is will make it harder and harder for the next manager to fill.We need to move forward with a positive frame of mind, not cling on to past failures because they aren''t as bad and damaging as they might be.
