Celtic In For Snodgrass!

Recommended Posts

Happy to see him go!

Moaning sweaty sock. Does nothing for team spirit. Slows the game down. Lost all his few good points from last season - set pieces and crosses so no redeeming features.

Strangely i''m not too bothered he just isn''t having the same impact on games and we could then at least see Redmond in his natural position .

Whether he stays or goes will not define our season and for that reason I am unconcerned about it.

Got no problem with him having a whinge at the referee. I thought he was one of our better players at Fulham the other day, and he''s certainly capable of a goal or 2. I for one would be unhappy to see him leave so hope this rumour is untrue - still think he has a lot to offer us. If he''s not quite at his best at the moment it''d be nice to see some support for the bloke in the meanwhile.

The Hughton approach, - to attack principally down the wings, requires speedy wingers. Otherwise by the time or square passing gets us don towards the by-line the defence are back in numbers. To some extent, and certainly this season, with Snodgrass there we are ponderous and virtually non-threatening. I think that he has other gifts in his locker - free-kicks to score directly and also to create chances, but he seems slow to deploy them this season. He also has good control in tight areas. It may be significant that in at least one game for Scotland he seemed to be playing in the number 10 position.

Whether he can re-find his success in his debut year, I do not know, - perhaps other sides have worked him out.

As things stand now, with Benno due to return, Redmond more experienced, with Pilks fit again, and the Murphy brothers available, Snoddy could be less important to us, and if we were offered a good price, then why not sell?

Wouldn''t blame him, would get champions league football.

He is good at set pieces and does have a good work rate but like others have said he can slow the game down which doesn''t help our counter play.

I would say he is at least worth £5M+ but transfer market say £4.8M

Like others don''t feel to fussed about this especially if Benno is back soon, and the versatility of Pilks, Redmond, Jonas and both Murphy''s

if its 5 million they can have him, and good riddance, we can then maybe buy a quality left footed left winger and play redmond on the right

what we really need is to get the new manager in by wednesday so he can get this all rolling along

Think this would be a good move for all concerned, but whether they''d put a fair bid in is questionable. They dont really need him so would they pay a lot? Would be a good move for him - cant see anyone else buying him. He''s not going to drop to the championship and we wouldnt want to sell to a rival. No team better than us in the premiership would be interested. If we want shut for a good price Celtic are likely to be our only option
Because a lot of our players are shit compared to the average and better players in the premier league.
Lol! Okay just completely ignore their records at previous clubs or in our first season under a better manager. But no, let''s not blame nice mr Hughton for stifling and sucking like creativity out of the players. They just magically became rubbish when Hughton came in, yeah that''s it (Y)

Amount of stick he gets who would blame him from wanting to go there. Celtic fan aswell, maybe we could use him as bait and get James Forrest.

Can''t understand why people want to see him gone. Like it or not, he is one of our better players, and even when not performing as well as he did last season (like the majority of the squad!!) he can still deliver a killer ball or a set piece. Snodgrass has that in his locker - Redmond, E Bennett, Gultierez haven''t. (Hopefully will develop in Redmond.)Selling our best players will weaken us as a team. We are fragile enough already, we don''t need any more destabalising. And £6m is a pi55 take.

Sell - he"a traded on last season''s form all season. Offers little other than the odd ridiculously over-hit cross. He won''t be missed now we have Handsome Guittierez.

He was one of the top midfielders in the league last year (at least going by Fantasy Premier League postion) so would have been worth a lot more than 6 million if we''d sold him at the end of the season. You can''t blame Hughton for his bad form because he peaked last year under Hughton. Obviously a player like him doesn''t just lose his touch so he''s clearly going through a bad patch. Better get him on a longer contract and then sell him later for more when he''s regained his form.

Some of you lot are mad. Probably our best player last season and on his day one the most creative/dangerous in the squad.

Unfortunately that day is usually a Tuesday in July when we don''t play.
