Some quotes from Villa fans...

Recommended Posts

Pl has made strides over the last 24 hrs with the deal to bring Hoolahan in from Norwich. The deal will cost us 1.8 mil and he will sign a 2 year deal. Pl hoping by the weekend...

No chance of Hoolahan moving from Norwich - he''s on a mega deal there with 18 months to run. plus Norwich board have said consistently that they are not a selling club.

Culverhouse being lined up to replace Hughton is more of a worry; where would PL get his ideas from if Culverhouse left?

???

Culverhouse is a bit left field- but I guess the Board would know him well after 3 years here. There was speculation when he was here that he was as much the driving force as Lambert. Swap deal for Wesley perhaps?!!
Interesting that the Villa fans also see Culverhouse as central to Lambert''s success. Backs up what many felt here
Probably because Culverhouse ran the day to day training, while Shambert hid in his office. [:)]

It would be a real gamble to go for Culverhouse for his first job as manager in the PL but the Board must know him well.  It would still be a concern to me that with a stronger squad at Villa, they''ve not been able to do any better than Hughton has here.

On Hoolahan, I do like the idea that Villa fans think he''s on too good a deal here at City for them to be able to attract him.

I seem to remember a rumour that back when we lost away to Blackburn 2-0 that Culverhouse had spent the week setting up the team and then Lambert came in the day before and changed the team/formation/tatics hence the dire performance.

Culverhouse back would be an interesting one. He did do the day to day stuff when here previously and was the ''good cop'' to Lambert''s ''bad cop''.

It should be remembered that Lambert was a bit of a ''bastard'' and that they players weren''t exactly fond of him personally, but was highly rated professionally - the opposite situation of what we have under Hughton. The players like him, but....

Had Culverhouse had taken over from Lambert here, it wouldn''t of worked as he would have to go from the players friend to a different role. Coming back to a largely different group of players would be in his favour.

I don''t really see this happening, but interesting nevertheless.
