Gotta hand it to Lawro...

Recommended Posts

"Paris St-Germain reportedly came in with a £14m bid for Magpies midfielder

Yohan Cabaye over the weekend and they do not strike me as the sort of club that

will walk away from a deal like that with the wealth that they have.

I would be very surprised if PSG do not secure Cabaye by the end of the week.

They might end up paying nearer £20m but, if they want Cabaye, I would expect

them to get him."

Whatever you think of him, he''s more often right than wrong!

Tough to say if i''d take 1-1 tonight. Perhaps it wouldn''t be the most helpful result.

If we played really well and it was a good game to watch, a point wouldn''t be bad, but I think we have to look at this one as a potential 3 points.

Yep, because Newcastle are so poor aren''t they?

Were you being sarcastic a1?
Otherwise why are you given him credit for something extremely obvious?
And he should be able to get things right, he''s a paid football ''expert''. And reportedly gets paid quite a bit. When in reality he knows no more than the average football fan who gets to watch and research as much as him. Plus he''ll have people telling him things to say etc. Match of the Day could easily be completely scripted.

Agree that Lawro usually pits us as underdogs.

Anyway, Cabaye now having medical with PSG & unavailable for tonight. Great chance for Norwich to get a result!

Without Cabaye they are, 5 wins in 19 games isnt it?
???? I count at least 8 wins.
So we shouldn''t see Newcastle at home as an opportunity to try and get 3 points?

Bloody glad you ain''t the manager!

Come off it GP - if anyone had come on here yesterday and said Cabaye will go but PSG will pay more like £20m than the £14m they bid... they''d be crowing to the roof tops today. It''s a decent enough shout from the guy. Kindness and humility are wonderful things. You should try them sometime [:)]

BTW, the PSG price for Cabaye is a good illustration of the way you have to overpay to buy a player in January.

Also it''s interesting to read from Gail Emms comments, she actually knows a bit about football, unlike most of the celebs predicting against Lawro.  So I hope her prediction for us is based purely on wanting to annoy her dad !

If you check his prediction league he''s been pretty decent to us this season if he was always right predicting our games we''d be sitting on 28 points.

Not really, he''s quality. Surprised he''s stayed at Newcastle for this long.
Fellaini cost more, in the summer, and Cabaye is easily as influential.

Every game should be an opportunity to get 3 points but some some are talking this up to be an easy game for us. And I''m glad I''m not the manager with the bunch of dickheads that call themselves fans around these parts.
