We are listed at 48th in the country!! So for a relative small city in national terms I for one think how lucky we are to have a Premiership Club.

Leeds are 5th, and look what another fine mess they are in.

Its time we got real, and be a bit thankful for what we have

It is outside england, is full of welsh speaking leek eating people, but most of all the motd presenters love Swansea more than everywhere else and so for that reason alone that must be right!

It is flawed, the ''Primary Urban Area'' of Norwich has a population of just 140,000.

The built up area is 213,166.

If you consider places like Thorpe Marriott, Trowse and New Costessey to be outside of Norwich then your data would be correct, but 48th is based on a near ancient boundary.

There are also several major rugby clubs within half an hours drive of Leeds City centre, and you won''t find much countryside between Leeds and Bradford.

A better study would divide population of the county and divide by number of professional teams.

West Yorkshire would come out worse than Norfolk by the time you have divided 2.16 million between:

Bradford City

Leeds United

Huddersfield

Halifax

Leaves about half a million per professional club, before considering rugby teams and the major cricket team based in Headingly (Leeds).

Norfolk has 850,000 people to split between 1 major football team, 0 major rugby teams, and 0 major cricket teams.

It`s irrelevant. The area officially classed as "Norwich" does not include most of the suburbs. The fact is the City is the focal point of a population of about 1 million people in Norfolk and N.Suffolk....which is why our support is way bigger than many give us credit for.

Number of professional football teams in South Yorkshire is 5.

Population of Norfolk is 850,000. Number of professional teams in South Yorkshire is 1.

Teams all over the country are probably hugely envious of our massive monopoly on sports in a big county.

Exactly. There are actually about 350,000 people within a 15 minute drive of Norwich.

Now let`s try Greater Birmingham- population 2.9m, six professional football clubs (includes Coventry), plus cricket, speedway, ice hockey, kabadee :) etc....

So roughly 500k each plus a lot more competition from other sports.

It bores me to keep having to repeat it! But unfortunately this kind of misinformation is incredibly widespread and does affect peoples idea of what sort of club we have.

A West Brom fan was belittling us at my work the other day saying how well we were doing considering Norfolk has a population of "About 200,000". I told him to google it....let`s just say he`s changed his tune slightly :)

All of this means next to zero as what it affects is the attendances in the ground and merchandising. By claiming we should consider ourselves lucky you ignore the fact that we have the 14th highest average attendance in the league which as it directly affects our 2nd biggest revenue stream means your argument is flawed.
