sonyc 5,492 Posted February 1, 2014 Like Clarke following on from being No 2 to Mourinho, Phelan would bring coaching experience and respect with Adams to add some in-house continuity. Did both play together before does anyone remember?
Jim Smith 2,314 Posted February 1, 2014 Not for us. About a decade apart I would say.

Salopian 1 Posted February 2, 2014 If, and it seems very unlikely, the Board decide to remove Hughton, then we shall need an interim manager. This could be the start from Adams, who obviously knows the strengths and weaknesses of the players and hasn''t been immersed in the Hughton mess like Calderwood. For Hughton''s henchmen to stop on after him would be a disaster, so there would be more compensation to find.
