Snoddy, Hughton and Manager Of The Month

Recommended Posts

Norwich City midfielder Robert

Snodgrass says manager Chris Hughton must be in the running for December manager

of the month.

There are still two games to go this

month with Norwich facing Fulham and Manchester United this week looking to

preserve a three-match unbeaten run since their mauling at Anfield on December

4.

Brendan Rodgers is also a leading

candidate. Liverpool, who have scored 12 in three wins since that 5-1 win over

Norwich, travel to Manchester City and Chelsea.

Snodgrass, who returned after a

10-game absence for Saturday’s goalless draw at Sunderland, credits Hughton with

Norwich’s vital reaction to the heavy defeat to the current Barclays Premier

League leaders.

He says Hughton deserves the

award. Snodgrass said: ‘It is

quite a turnaround and I would be delighted for him if that happened.

''We were under pressure but put some

results together. Chris Hughton is exactly the same person now as he was then.

He has been the same since the first day he walked in.
He didn’t panic after the 7-0 Man City

result and he won’t go over the top now.
‘You will never see a manager that

works harder than Chris Hughton. He is there til seven at night looking to do

better for the boys and never loses faith in us.
‘Getting good results back to back has

given us a huge lift. That is three games unbeaten now which is hard to do at

this level but it is a start and we now have two home games and we believe we

definitely can win them.
‘At the start of November we only had

eight points so to be going into Christmas six points above the bottom three is

an achievement but really we are not looking behind us with the players we have

got.
‘Why put pressure on ourselves by

looking over our shoulders when we can look above us? That puts extra pressure

on you. We have got the belief and the players to look forward.’

Hughton meanwhile credits with players

with the improved results at a critical time of the season. Norwich have points

in the bag for a tough winter schedule.
As well as Snodgrass, the Norwich boss

welcomed back Ricky van Wolfswinkel who will surely be eager to make up for lost

time, and goals.

Hughton goes into the Christmas

programme in optimistic mood, with Norwich’s home form proving the rock of their

survival bid.

He said: ‘I don’t think it is the

results that hurt us at Man City and Liverpool, it was the manner, the fact we

shipped so many at Manchester which is unlike us what it does prove is that on a

bad day it can happen and Man City shown that to us and other clubs.

‘That is when you look at the

character in the team and do we have enough character to turn that round and

bounce back and on both occasion, the initial response was to bounce back in the

next game and you know in a season you will have bad run where you lose games

and keep working as hard as you can to get a decent run going and at the moment

we are on a decent run and it is certainly a better feeling''

‘When you go into a home game, perhaps

the expectation is different. Irrespective of where Sunderland are most people

and supporters would have said a draw there is a good result.

‘But then you have home games where the

expectation changes and it turns into supporters expecting you to win, you have

to manage that and the small margins which win games in this division which has

so many good teams.’

There''s more chance of me backing Chris Hughton than him winning manager of the month for December.  We''ve had one good result, the away win at WBA.  A home draw against Swansea and a point at Sunderland are par results, nothing spectacular.  I don''t even think 6 points from Fulham and Man Utd would be enough.

Even CH thinks it''s the players who deserve the credit for the slightly above average run of games.

That Snodgrass and CH are at loggerheads over this is just one more issue dividing the club.

We need unity, not divisiveness.

Your attitude says more about you than Hughton.

I suggest that you read the daily mail regularly then - it makes a living from pandering to people''s prejudice and ignorance

RVW will Never play for us again - plays on Saturday, mad at rumour mongers

Players hate Hughton and his ways - howson and ruddy sign 4 1/2 year contracts

The arguments hughtonout morons come up with are crumbling, and damage control is in full effect.

When we struggled I was concerned but never got personal, never over reacted. The ones that did are branded, we know who you are and won''t let You forget what you''ve said.

Beep! Beep! Beep! Back it up!
Any of the clueless still think Mr Hughton should be a contender for Manager of the Month?
Of course the point of the thread was not to suggest Hughton should get manager of the month. Even the narrow Houston managed to work that out. But not you Matt...

If Matt "Can''t be bothered to go anymore" Juler can win fan of the year, Hughton winning Manager of the Month isn''t much of a stretch.

How was the Belgian Xmas Market, Matt? Enjoy that more than an away win?

The markets were very poor, but had a lovely weekend away thanks. I''m also looking forward to a day at home next Wednesday instead of the short trip south of the river to Selhurst Park.
