Norwich - Palace Match thread

Recommended Posts

Hughton seems to be much more willing to switch the wingers now, this is the 2nd time that Wes has gone to the left and Redmond right, it''s nice to see. Also, HOOPER! [:D]

Wes, despite his lack of match-fitness, is looking sharp on that right-hand side, drifts centrally creates the overload in the centre and then attempts a pass in behind. He''s overhitting them at the minute, but that is due to a lack of playing-time.

2 points about that last palace attack:
1) Elmander needed to get back much quicker, Howson almost had to abandon his defensive position to apply the pressure that Elmander should have.
2) Fer took too much of a risk in the centre of midfield, it took good work from Wes and Howson to bail him out.

Wes is taking his chance with both hands today.

I believe he will sadly sometimes give the ball away but it''s usually because he is trying to make things happen.

Impressed with him today. Redmond is also having a very good game.

Downside, we still look a little nervous at the back

Regardless of whether he''s done it before.

Good first half. Redmond and Wes deserve alot of credit for their attacking play, Redmond has looked dangerous when running at players and Wes is just such a brilliant footballer, so intelligent and quick with the pass. Howson also deserves a mention, he hasn''t really had the opportunity to burst forward into attacking areas but has been disciplined defensively and very quick and efficient when passing.

The manager should have cleared away the dead wood that is Snodgrass and Pilkington long ago but it''s left to an injury "crisis" to get players in the team who actually deserve to be there.

Totally, utterly chuffed for Wes. Let''s hope he can carry on from here, get his range sighted properly, & he''ll turn defences upside down!
