TheEarlyMilkman 0 Posted December 7, 2013 Not a fan of Hughton but he does pick a victory up when he needs it,Last season towards the end we needed a couple of wins to secure our future in the premier league Stoke needed a win he got oneWest ham, suffered a couple of defeats and only a draw against Cardiff he turns it around at half time for us to go on and winPalace, bad performance at man city needed a reaction he got one with 3 pointsWest brom, bad result against Liverpool and turned it around with a change of formation and a good counter attacking performance, All in all he does how to win when the pressure is on, I just wish he would make it easier on the fans. Holtcantshoot 0 Posted December 7, 2013 Well yes, unless we get to a point where we have already won the Premier League with a game to spare we will always "need" to win every competitive game. You''ve basically just provided a list of games where we happen to have won.You could argue we didn''t need to win the Man City game last year but he won that as well anyway. barclay_boy111 0 Posted December 7, 2013 Does it? Because surly they would play at 110% every game not the ones that Hughton would get the sack for if they lost
Guest Posted December 7, 2013 Not sure if you don''t understand or are refusing to accept any other viewpoint that undermines your argument, but surely you realise that if the players wanted their manager out a good way to do so would be to capitulate away from home after a preceding 5-0 defeat? Or at home after a 7-0 defeat?Look at Fulham...
killiecanary 0 Posted December 7, 2013 I reckon any team away from the top 8 really needs to win certain games - those at home against teams in the bottom half. Picking up away points against those teams is really useful too...So if we agree on that basis...Wins this season v West Ham, stoke, Palace, west Brom, SouthamptonDraw v Cardiff ( despite deserving more) Still to,play - Swansea, Fulham, Sunderland Really only two disappointing RESULTS (Hull away - would a point have been a decent return there? and Aston villa at home) He really has a decent record in games we need to win. I am as annoyed as anyone with the way we''ve conceded to Liverpool, man city etc but on the basis of results - especially at home - it would surely be madness to jettison CH yet???But any objective data analysis of results against teams positioned from 10-20 has to be that he is achieving to expectations surely?
