Canary On The Wire

We were the best attacking side in the league today.

Recommended Posts

Manchester United beat Stoke, having 19 shots and 5 on target.

Liverpool beat West Brom, with 18 shots, and 7 on target

Everton beat Aston Villa with 14 shots and 3 on target...

and Arsenal beat Crystal Palace with 10 shots and 4 on target.

Now we drew with Cardiff City, with TWENTY FIVE shots and NINE on target.

So why didn''t we win? David Marshall. Simple- he was imperious in the Cardiff goal.

Twist it any way you like and call for Hughton''s head- we have played really well in each of our last four games, didn''t get the rub today thanks to Marshall''s golden gloves.

Those of you who have held your heads above the murky waters of trolling and calling for the manager''s head will know that we are headed for good things this season- unfortunately there''s not enough actual opinion on this forum, only those out to one-up each other. Norwich fans are lost at sea here.

Stoke 0 - 1 Norwich

Norwich 1 - 3 Chelsea

Arsenal 4 - 1 Norwich

Norwich 0 - 0 Cardiff

Thank God we didn''t just play well, or even worse - ok, or heaven forbid if we''d have played badly, then isn''t it?[:^)]

I was pleased with how we played today but the important stat is that we scored zero goals. David Marshall wasn''t that good, we just put a lot of our shots straight at him.

Because our one man up front carries about as much threat as a feather duster.

How many shots were heading top or bottom corner. Nearly every shot was straight at him. Wrong subs, wrong timing of subs, wrong players bought on. Might aswell have 0 shots if u dont score.

The inclusion of an away win at Stoke suggests we played well.

At Chelsea, we were a mere Tettey slip up (his only mistake of the game) away from a point, or possibly three. If you deny that we were taking the game to them at the time then you''re an absolute toolbox of the highest order.

Against Arsenal, we had the better of the game for a solid third of it (between 30 and 60 minutes) even Wenger, who I would imagine knows a damn sight more about football than you said this! And anyway, if you can''t see that losing to two of the top four- one of them away from home, can occur in a situation where you''ve still played well, then I refer you to my previous toolbox statement.

I''ve given you my thoughts on today. It''s no wonder we''re seen as carrot crunching inbreds by the rest of the footballing world.

Trouble is it''s always jam tomorrow. ''We''re headed for good things'' so when are the good things going to start?

Agreed Dandy. Unfortunately for us it''s goals that count and whilst it''s pleasing that we dominated today you have to wonder just who we will beat. We will stay up based on our home results and 5 points from 5 games is not enough. We''ll need 30 points, at home, I''d suggest so we have 14 games to collect 25 points. If Arsenal, Liverpool, Chelsea, both Manchester clubs and Spurs turn us over that leaves us 8 games and we''d need to win them all. Now, it doesn''t mean that we will lose all those games against the top clubs however it is certainly possible. So that leaves our away results..... Oh, sh*t!

Well thank God almighty then isn''t it, that we played REALLY well in EACH of the last four games then isn''t it!!!!!!!!

P4 W1 D1 L2 F3 A7 - Imagine how much worse this would have been if we had not played REALLY well in EACH of these games!!!  It just dosen''t bear thinking about.

Surely even an absolute toolbox of the highest order can see that if we had not played as well then the results above would have been worse!  Don''t you agree with this and if not, why not!?!?!?!?!?!?
