Do you remember the ref getting knocked out - Carrow Rd, mid-80s?

Recommended Posts

As a kid, in the mid-80s, I watched a game at Carrow Road where the referee got knocked unconscious. There was some incident, players surrounded the referee and when they dispersed he was laid flat out on the turf. He was down for a good few minutes before being stretchered off to be replaced by one of his linesmen. I''m pretty sure no one was sent off. Does anyone remember this and can anyone tell me anything else about the incident? ThanksMoo

I can''t remember that one Moo, but I do remember Chris Woods flattening a striker (dunno why but I think it was a Carlisle player), and he laid flat out in Woodsy''s area for a few minutes as the game went on.

Proper players back then. :P
