MancCanary 0 Posted November 1, 2013 "if you replace relegated Reading and Wigan Athletic with promoted Hull City and Cardiff City respectively, with eight points Norwich have already notched double their tally of points from their corresponding nine fixtures last season. It is a state of affairs that suggests Hughton''s situation, while serious, is far from dire."From this article: http://www.theguardian.com/football/blog/2013/oct/31/premier-league-managers-november-norwich-sunderland-fulham-sack

MancCanary 0 Posted November 1, 2013 You''re right! Wow, that''s a piece of lazy journalism from the Guardian! So we''d need 18 points to have doubled the points tally from equivalent fixtures last season!?

Personally I don''t like to substitute relegated/promoted teams when comparing results season by season, so if you just look at directly comparable fixtures we do come out ahead this season, 5 vs 7.
