The Great Mass Debater

Gianfranco Zola

Recommended Posts

What do people think about him as a candidate? Well grounded in English football, so best of both worlds when it comes to the influence of the continent (ie not a Tony Pulis Neil Warnock blinkered approach to football) but with access to ideas from and contacts from the continent.

I think a traditional English manager would be a backward step for us, but think a foreign novice would also be a disaster. Zola, despite being Italian, is unlikely to focus purely on the defensive and will play attractive football. His reputation in the game will also command respect of current players and potential recruits. Speaks English well.

So do people think he would be a good choice? If not, why not?

Secondly if he''s a good choice, is he an attainable choice? Obviously lots of Italian links and set-up at Watford. Would we be able to get him?
