Katie Borkins 1 Posted November 10, 2013 When we got that penalty, Hooper called for the ball. No pissing about with Snodgrass or anyone looking unsure or scared, no he was well up for it. Clearly words have been exchanged after that Villa match and the issue''s been sorted out so I say well done that man. And by Christ he can put his foot through it, I reckon that would have taken the keeper into the net with him if he''d got hands on it.
birchfest 397 Posted November 10, 2013 That was a classic Shearer style pen, no nonsense back of the net. Great for the lads confidence and hopefully he can push on from that
Darth Catbeard The Old 0 Posted November 10, 2013 Agreed, Hooper knew their keeper was gonna dive (like the stats prove he always does) The coaching team were obviously aware of it. A finisher like Hooper was never going to miss that in a million years knowing he only had to smash it through the middle
K Lo 221 Posted November 11, 2013 Furthermore, Snodgrass got a confidence-boosting goal too !!
Houston Canary 0 Posted November 11, 2013 Hooper''s excitement at finally scoring a league goal, albeit a gift really lifted the team. Scoring on penalties is usually relatively muted celebration-wise compared to free kicks or open play goals, but Hooper roared with delight and the other players became much more animated than they seemed to be in the first couple of seconds after the goal.
