Thought he was very good today, very strong on the ball. Won the ball plenty, decent passing, short and long range. Tried a few ''creative'' passes. Like everyone did a few things wrong, but certainly played like the commanding midfielder we thought we''d signed.

Not to antagonise but I thought he was poor today compared to the Southampton game. Looked slow and his tracking back and anticipation was poor. Just my opinion.

Thought he was much improved for the first twenty minutes. After that, he barely touched the ball. Bit of a worry if you''re playing in the centre of midfield.

Fer did very well in patches, but went missing for long periods. Seeing him standing watching as the Villa goal went in was very poor indeed.

I think he is struggling with the pace of the game right now. I can see him being excellent given time.

I thought Fer and Howson gave it a good go but there was so little happening infront of them.
