Attacking Hughton Is A Self-Fulfilling Prophecy

Recommended Posts

Negativity will bring the club to its knees and spoil everything. Get behind the team, get behind the manager and give him time to put the jigsaw together, and then I truly believe we will see free flowing and exciting football which balances robust defence with enterprising attacking play.

Calling for Hughton''s head now would send the wrong message to all our rivals, and would impact on the morale of the players he has signed at great expense.

He will get time, and we need to support the club and the team on the pitch while he tries to turn it around. Booing and chanting "you don''t know what you''re doing" is divisive and counter-productive and frankly a bit pathetic.

He will not be sacked this early by a board and management team that trusted him with the biggest ever transfer budget and allowed him to smash our transfer record to bring in Van Wolfswinkel.

We are only five games in and there is plenty of time to turn things around. Hughton led us to eleventh place in last season''s Premier League and has bought players that we all generally agree are quality signings that have improved the squad.

We cannot expect improvements overnight and it will take time for the players to bond physically and emotionally into an effective team unit.

We need to stay positive, keep the faith, keep our chins up, hold our heads up high, keep smiling, keep believing, dig deep, get behind the lads, and back the man in the hot seat to deliver the goods.

Don''t stop believing.

We have looked like we are in trouble over the last 25 games. Regularly achieving less than 35% possession and sub 3 shots on target. We should always support the team but being unable to see or accept the present state of the team is being blind to relativity. Speak to any neutral, check the betting odds look at the statistics.

Hanging hats on 11th place last term masks the reality of the situation. 10 points separated 10 places.

We have Stoke away, Chelsea, Arsenal Man City and Cardiff next. We will take no points other than Cardiff and will be facing a total of 7 points amassed 1/4 of the way through the season.

It''s obvious he has not moved the team forward over the summer despite investing millions and millions on expensive square pegs to fit into round holes.
