It''s Norwich City versus another team at Carrow Road. In the 1960s. So in the old Division Two, assuming - for the moment - it''s a league match. The only NCFC player in view is, I believe, Scottish. It certainly looks like a particular player from that era. We still used black shorts for several of those seasons. As to the other team I may be missing something but I cannot see any clues. The shirts could be red or blue, but there is no visible crest. However one of the opposition players (the middle one) does actually look like another Scottish player. I won''t name him, but if so then possibly this was not a league match, but a cup encounter, with the opposition wearing red or blue. At which I was, like a few others, in attendance. And in which our NCFC Scottish player - if it is him - took part. But this all may be completely wrong.
I don''t think so Purple.My guess is Jan 24th 1959 and the City player in view is Irish not Scottish.I would also hazard that the shirts are bluePerhaps I''m wrong

Ricardo, I think the shirts are blue and the same competition! Just a few years later. Those opposition shirts look a touch on the tight side for the late 1950s. More a sixties style? Certainly that player opposition looks very much like a certain player from the sixties and seventies who was in this match I''m thinking of.

Oh, and we lost this game.

I know the player you''re thinking of. I still think he looks like the player who was effectively his replacement after your man went to be wasted in the reserves for the Bank of England club! But my only real reason for sticking to my view is the resemblance of that opposition  player to this chap;

Agreed now. It is March 1963, not 1959 or 1962, and the game against Leicester. But I still think that looks more like Bryceland with his shock of dark hair than Hill, allthough I wouldn''t be dogmatic about it. And the Leicester player - really as far as I can see the only clue to the game - is Frank McClintock.

Who knows for sure. I wouldn''t bet on it, but it looks like Tommy to me:
But am I right that it''s Graham Cross heading the ball?
That was my thought, without being certain. It looks like how I remember him as a footballer, and cricketer.

I think the other defender is Ian King. The scorers for Leicester were Gibson and Stringfellow and I seem to recall the goals being scored at the Barclay End
