Iwans Big Toe 309 Posted September 30, 2013 First things first, in a word you''ve hit the nail on the head. It doesn''t take an genius to see that some on this message board will be eating humble pie. I do, however, beg to differ and have a bone of contention with your point about leopards changing their spots because some gave 110% on Sunday. There''s no need to get all worked up because we didn''t draw a blank at Stoke which proved good things do come to those that wait. Make no bones about it, Chris Hughton is a man for all seasons and sacking him now would be jumping the gun. I''m bored to tears and have had it up to here with people who want McNally to act like a bull in a china shop, so just give it a rest, it''s like groundhog day when we lose. People make a song and dance about any defeat, when they should keep their hair on and their chin''s up and see the glass as half full not half empty. We must stick together as a house divided against itself cannot stand, and when we do hit a bump in the road people must bend over backwards to get behind the lads. If we do draw a blank people can''t jump on the bandwagon to sack the manager. I''m sure that he has an ace or two up his sleeve. This season is a marathon not a sprint and he who laughs last laughs best. What we don''t need is Hughton looking over his shoulder wondering if he will get stabbed in the back, we need him to focus on what''s ahead and keep his nose to the grindstone whilst he is in the hot seat as it will take it''s toll. I do agree though that at times he should show some backbone and go for broke and when we''re behind throw the kitchen sink forwards because nothing ventured is nothing gained. It is time to nip in the bud those bringing up last season as it''s all water under the bridge and when push comes to shove some of the reactions have been over the top.Well to coin a phase, I''m going to call it a day and take the easy way out. I hope that City give Chelsea a run for their money, but no matter the result don''t get your knickers in a twist and get all bent out of shape. That''s a wrap, I hope you can look at this through rose coloured glasses and see it''s all a bit tongue in cheek. Sorry, I know I posted this on a different thread, but I spent a good hour on this and wanted to give it a thread of it''s own.
snake-eyes 13 Posted September 30, 2013 Clearly a poster who has his head in the sand and really cannot see the wood for the trees! It''s like the blind leading the blind,.But it is a free world and we are all entitled top our opinions and rather than being at each others throats we can all come together, agree to disagree, let sleeping dogs lye and all pull in the same direction. It is after all not a matter of life or death! It''s more important than that! Snake[:D]

Reggie Strayshun 0 Posted September 30, 2013 He''d need to tick all the boxes, consider all his options and open up a window of opportunity for some blue sky thinking , if he were to do that , purple.
Iwans Big Toe 309 Posted September 30, 2013 Whilst I appreciate this thread has been as useful as a lead balloon, I''m at the end of my tether with people calling for Hughton''s head on a platter. It might be an ill fated idea, but I think we should stick with him until we find ourselves up the creak without a paddle. If it does all go belly up, I''ll come to those of you who have an axe to grind, with hat in hand and hope you can find it in your hearts to forgive.

We won the game at the weekend because it was a must win game. Hughton only appears to set up to win away when his back is against the wall, as it was against West Brom, Man City etc at the end of last season and now against Stoke this season. When he is in his comfort zone he is happy to settle for boring draws and that attitude will always keep us in the lower end of the table. Until I see us setting up to win away from home and putting the opposition on the back foot week in week out I will certainly not agree that he has changed. Waveney Canary 0 Posted October 1, 2013 Regarding hughtons approach to away games my view us that a bird in the hand is worth 2 in the bush and he needs to learn this lesson. Hughton out
Graham Paddons Beard 2,351 Posted October 1, 2013 For me, Hughton has to set his stall out, early doors, and knick it at the death. Keep a tempo, bang a bongo, and really get at ''em. Shut the crowd up, stick the pig skin into the old lobster pot , and make sure the Big Lad doesnt hit the Beans on Toast . That should do it.
