Rays Funds for the CSF with the Pink un Pickers Week 8

Recommended Posts

Greetings PUPs and welcome to week 8 of the Rays Funds season. Following

on from three weeks of PUPs making the final selections for the first time (and

what a success that proved to be with Snake and Vindo really kick starting our

season!) this week we have an old hand with Scooby in charge and making the

final selections. The 3 beside his name on Ray’s signature tells you everything

you need to know about Scooby’s quality as a PUP. Scooby is always around the

top of our league and is certainly one of the most consistent PUPs not to win

it. But he’s making another bold effort this season as he is among the nine

PUPs at the top with 7/7. Of course as always Scooby will need our help and I’m

sure he’ll get it. Last weekend confirmed my belief that we have the best team

of PUPs ever right now and more of the same will see us breaking records of

money raised this season. We are already on £118 thanks to all your awesome

selections.

Thanks to CD Mullins last week I placed the bet with William Hill where

we get the insurance of our stake back if we only miss out by one selection. So

this is where I intend to place the accumulator bet whenever possible. So

bearing this in mind I’d ask you all to make a slight change and ensure your

selection is from the weekends fixtures (Saturday/Sunday) and listed on the William

Hill web site : http://sports.williamhill.com/bet/en-gb/betting/y/5/et/Football.html

This week we have Splutcho looking after our new Norwich match bet.

Splutcho has proved a great addition to our team and I’m so pleased he has the

chance to select in this while he waits for his chance in the main bet.

Something I’m sure he’ll get next season and I’m looking forward to it already.

Now I don’t mind whether your choices for this come from Bill Hill or Bet365.

In fact I’ll probably check the odds on each and place the bet to our best

advantage. I know Splutcho will be grateful for as many suggestions as

possible. Good luck Splutcho, we’re all hoping you’re the first match bet

winner.

I’d just like to share with you all that the football club are still

interested in how we get on even though we actually raise funds for their

charity partners this year. Ricky Martin was pleased to see we’d already won

twice and his message is “keep up the good work”.

Now Ill hand the thread over to Scooby.

Remember theres no pressure because we are

all going to be doing our best to help you get x4 by your name in the Rays

Funds Hall of Fame. We all stand together with the single aim of raising money

for the Community Sports Foundation.

Good luck all you PUPs... Take it away Rod ... the thread is

yours.......[:)]..........

As always I leave you with

Rays signature which now reads :-

Carve their names with

pride.Yankee,4,Fellas,3,P''boro,2,Mr Chops,2,NewYork,2, Inch High,3,

Blahblahblah, NCFC_Shaun, 1st Wazzock,3, Fonejacker,3, Norfolkbroadslim,

Leedscanary,2, NcfcStar, Herman, Delia’s Devonshire Dirtbox, Lappinitup,

Statto, Mandie Moo, Mr Bump, Kathy, Til1010, Snake-eyes, Vindo yes

Norfolkchance1 £2038 for the Academy, and £118 for the Community Sports Foundation

making a total of £2156 so far.

Trip to Greece for Olympiakos to beat Veria.Olympiakos are top - 5/1/0 for the season with a 14/1 goals scored/conceded.Veria are 15th and are also rans.Olympiakos have won the same fixture five times out of five, scoring 15 and conceding 1.Only doubt is that Olympiakos have champions league midweek, but as its a sunday match they have a while to prepare.Best of luck all. (As for Norwich, Ivanovic as first scorer?)

Well, Helsingborg owe me big time after I chose them as one of my final 6 and they could only manage a draw at home to one of the bottom sides. This time they''re at home to Halmstads who are one off the bottom. The odds are an attractive 2/5 for a home win, which is what I''m going for.

Best of luck to Scooby and Splutcho, and all the other PUPs.

Thanks Nutty and hi guys and girls! There seems to be a great many picks to choose from already but keep ''em coming, I need as much help as you all can give me. I''ll do my level best to make it another win following on from Vindo''s great win last week.

Just glad I''m not in charge of the Norwich bet as I haven''t a clue about betting! ( so stop scaring me Tilly). Good luck with that one Splutchco.

So keep picking and I''ll make my selections some time on Friday PM.

A good friend of mine watches a lot of non league football and says Hyde are one of the worst teams he has ever seen. They are at home to Braintree who are 19/20. In his opinion Braintree should be closer to 4/7 or 8/15 so are the best value on the weekend coupon by far! On his advice and value grounds this week I am going for:

Hyde v Braintree away win

For the Norwich bet. Do they still bet on who will be the sky man of the match? They used to. If so, how about Juan Mata .

All the best everyone

I know they play Europa today but I still think Spurs can beat West Ham on Sunday. The Hammers have yet to score away from home and I have a feeling a single goal could be enough for on form Tottenham.

Tottenham          v          West Ham          Home Win.

As for the Norwich bet - Ryan Bennett went close last weekend and is 16/1 to score anytime. Not sure if Bassong will take his place though. Maybe that will become clearer by Friday evening.

That Hyde match does seem to be really good value Hector, they''ve drawn 2 games this season and lost 10 in the league.

To the La Liga for me this week, Barcelona v Real Valladolid HOME win please.  Barca, at home, and off the back of five straight wins (kiss of death there then I suppose!!), and RV I think with only one win in the last five including three draws...

Very best of luck for the final six Scooby, and the same for the £5 wager Splutcho.  For the fiver bet, my suggestion would be 1:1, Ricky VW to score for City.  Not sure of the odds, but would imagine fairly good value.

Good luck one and all anyway

Having had my thunder stolen by Mr Angry Braintree is a great shout. I will offer a new selection for Scooby and take Oxford United to send Southend back home with nothing

Oxford V Southend Home win (19/20)

As for the City bet with a poor forward line Chelsea will be looking for a midfielder to score there goals -we are getting tighter at the back so how about a satisfactory 0-0 at 10/1

Good luck to both Splutcho and Scooby, also to City as I won''t be there this week to cheer them on.
