unique 434 Posted October 11, 2013 .....after all, Norwich got lucky in the first season back in the PL, when two ''Championship standard'' strikers, Holt and Morison scored the bulk of the goals, and the five strikers totalled 27 goals between them, finishing with 27 goals from 101 (starting and occasional) appearances. Last season Norwich looked far more solid. A higher league position achieved, the weight of goal-scoring expectancy shared between seven strikers.Sadly the strikers were ineffective at best, with an output of 11 goals from 89 appearances? Holt ''weighed in'' with 8, the other 6 scored 3 goals between them. Hughton and his coaching staff must have sniffed a weakness because they splashed the cash...not only on wages but on rather high transfer fees.....and the upshot is.....1 goal from the 14 forward appearances so far this season......... There''s only one way to go from here. Who knows how long the strikers will take to bed in and adjust to the paucity of chances on offer each game they play. Time to follow the West Ham route. Don''t bother playing a striker......pack the midfield instead. 12 goals from 103 appearances by the forwards since the beginning of last season suggests Hughton doesn''t know how to use them anyway. A Gay Schoolboy 0 Posted October 11, 2013 He''s got a point though. 12 goals from 103 combined appearances is abysmal.

norfolkbroadslim 223 Posted October 11, 2013 At least we can look forward to one of our strikers scoring once in every 9 games. Of course that stat is not really accuate given that Holt, our leading scorer, was sold and Becchio can''t even get a game for the under 9''s.We are down to Hooper and RVW of whom they don''t play together and anything more than 2 chances in a game they''d think all their Christmas''s had come at once.I can only see that stat getting worse unfortunately!
