Francis Or Holt

Recommended Posts

Francis by far because he (and some people on here) thinks he''s good when he isn''t. At least you know where you stand with Holt!

Francis, looked like he didn''t care, didn''t pick up the run for the first goal, we needed our top players to perform yesterday and Francis was woeful.  Holt is a trier and if Safri hadn''t have been injured he would have stayed on the bench.

They were both as bad as each other, Francis couldn''t be bothered and Holt - well, was Holt - we watched him closely, an absolutely dire performance, and I can''t wait for people to come on and start sticking up for him with "He nearly died" etc. If that''s the reason for him being so crap, then he should''nt even be playing. He ran around like a headless chicken all afternoon, hardly got a touch, and it''s no coincidence that the goals came thick and fast after he came on. Jonson or even Chalrtonwould have been a more effective choice. And as for Francis, as far as i''m concerned, he can pick up his P45 and shut the door behind him, I can''t remember the last time i''ve seen a player look less bothered in a City shirt.

i do feel for gary holt one thing you do get is he never gives up but he has been found wanting in the prem.but the thing what is really eating away at me is the displays of francis. has looked to me totally uninterested with the battle we had ahead of us ok e did look the part before his facial injury but sinse then he has been nothing short of a disgrace specialy given sundays display. he has got plenty in his locker to be liked but only plays when he feels like it and unless worthy can sort his head out lets get rid and get someone in who will give 100 percent.you can never accuse holty or any of the other players of not given 100percent.

If Holt or Francis play a part in next years campaign I will be disgusted.  Holt always has looked poor in my opinion, and Francis blatantly wants away.  Sell the t**t for whatever we can get for him, though not sure why on earth Charlton or Fulham would see him as anything other than a reserve worth around a million squid.  As for Holt, well east Stirling could do with a ''battling'' midfielder.  Saffri and a new Midfielder for me next season.  Someone ''nasty'' who can kick lumps out of people to give us some damn fight.

Francis by far was our poorest player yesterday, he basically didn''t want to know, he knows he''s not playing championship football next season, and therefore didn''t want to know. Plus he was the reason we got off to a dreadful start by not picking up the run of McBride for the first goal. ( but there again he''s not been picking up opposing players runs into the box all season )  He must be sold if we are to be a positive force in the championship next season.

For ''someone nasty'' what would you say to having Lee Clark alongside Safri next season? I vaguely remember Worthers trying to sign him a few seasons ago, and he''s currently awaiting a new contract with Fulham, or alternatively, how about Jason Koumas who''s been told he can leave West Bromwich Albion by Bryan Robson.
Unlike last season, I think we are ok for strikers at present - Ashton, McKenzie and Svennson for me will still be with City next season. Huckerby and Jonson can also play up front so our bases are covered there, not forgetting Crow and Jarvis waiting in the wings.
Midfield and Defence are the areas of main concern, especially when you consider we shipped an alarming amount of goals in the season just ended.

All in all, this pre-season should be an interesting one, with potentially a fair few new faces arriving and a fair few left or leaving.

agree with you all Francis was awful and Holt always is awful. Yesterday I found myself thinking get Mullers on, he would have played better than either of those two.

Francis get what we can for him fast
Holt pay someone to take him
Safri great, keep him
Bentley, lets hope we can buy him
Huckerby, looked out of shape yesterday, but still class act
Jonson, I think he gets told to do one thing one week and another the next. I saw Nigel shouting instructions at him all game, poor bloke needs to relax and be told to enjoy himself and he will be class.
Stuart, would have been better than Holt and Francis, but can''t see a use for him next season.
Brennan, also can''t see him in the side next season.

All in all looks okay and that''s without factoring in the youngsters which look great for the future. We just have to pray Worthy grows some balls and starts dropping under acheivers and letting go getters have a go.

Francis - didnt have a care in the world, obvious winner

Holt - great dancing, must be from star wars as he has this force-field around him to stop him actually tackle a player

Holty at least tries and I think he did OK in the 1st Div, so worth keeping.

If Charlton or Boro or anyone is prepared to pay good money for Francis, bite their hand off.

Roberts'' book mentioned that Francis was off to London at every opportunity and did not socialise with the others - let him go and bring in someone who is proud to wear the mighty yellow shirt.

How on earth did Francis get second place in fans'' Player of the Year?  Must have made Greeno, Ashton etc feel good.

i think Francis will stay. Any team with sense will see that there are better, more consistent players around. If i was a prem club i would rather have routledge for the same price

At last people who see sense about holt, did someone say east stirling, he''s not even good enough for wroxham, he can''t pass or tackle but has "instant first touch close control"

as a "tough tackling no nonesense battling midfielder" did he get a yellow card this season?

There was more commitment from Francis in Alex Notman''s benefit match tonight than we saw from him on Sunday. He has the talent and physical presence to dominate matches like Bouba Diop did for Fulham, but lacks the drive to do so. He needs to take a long hard look at himself.

Gary Holt at least gives his best and it''s not his fault that he lacks the quality to succeed in the Premiership.
