Becchio

Recommended Posts

Is Hughton aware of his existence?

Please arrange for his exit from the Club asap Mr. McNally.

It''s getting so cruel to watch now. Elmander, who has hardly unpacked his suitcase, was preferred yesterday and even when it seemed to me a recognised goal scorer/poacher of LB''s reputation was what was really needed.

If ever there was a chance for Luciano to redeem himself it was yesterday. The stage was set.

But no. There he sat on the bench unused, unrecognised and seemingly unwanted.

On yer bikio Becchio?

One of the most ridiculous signings ever, he has never been given a chance.

If Becchio''s signing was ridiculous, then Elmander''s takes it to a whole new level!

Elmander has scored one goal in the last twelve months - not the sort of signing that is going to transform a goal-shy Norwich City side.....a signing based mainly on his past record(not that he''s ever been prolific), rather than the present or the future....

We might just as well have kept GH.

We might just as well have kept GH.[/quote]Holt didn''t want to be here any longer, so that''s a strange point of view.

Neil Warnock covered this in his book. We were not interested in Becchio. He was never on Hughton''s radar.

We were looking to offload Morison who wanted to leave, Leeds showed an interest but had no cash. So Leeds offered Becchio, a player who wanted to leave them.

A transfer of convenience.

I actulally thought Elmander looked lively when he came on. A goal poacher would have made no difference yesterday. the midfield and defence were too content just knocking the ball around and showing no effort to play the strikers in, against a team with ten men and no need to press.

Fer was the only player that wanted to involve the strikers... The rest was mediocre, ineffective ball retention, and a few longer range pot-shots. Snodgrass looked off the pace, but wasted one great opportunity to cross with a theatrical dive.

In reality we need to keep hold of Becs. RVW and Hooper probably have relegation release clauses in their contracts.
