Predictions for Norwich v Everton?

Recommended Posts

I''m going for a 1-1 draw. Everton to score first through Pienaar, but Ricky Van Wolfswinkel will pounce on a mistake at the back to earn us the draw.

I think Everton will still be adapting to Martinez'' (sp?) Tatics and style of play. I also think it being at home we will get the win.

Just got to get CR really rocking and get behind the lads.

Cant wait less then 48 hours!

3-1 Norwich I think.

OTBC!

It has been too long without football!

Tim Howard gave up 3 yesterday vs Bosnia so hopefully he won''t be on his game by Saturday. If we play like the first half of the last 2 friendlies, we''ll win comfortably 2 - 0.

From The Sporting Life website - seems a fair analysis to me.

Everton are favourites for this fixture which, I suppose, is not

unreasonable given they amassed 19 points more than 11th placed Norwich

last season. Just 21 of their 63-point haul (four wins and nine draws)

came on the road, however, and they took just one point (at home) off

the Canaries last season which Makes them impossible to recommend as

they, presumably, adapt to a new manager and new style of playing. They

have, so far, resisted any overtures for their marquee names which bodes

well for their chances of repeating last season''s sixth-placed finish

and Nikica Jelavic surely can''t endure a campaign as barren as 2012/13

which saw him net just seven league goals. Norwich enjoyed a decent

enough second season in the Premier League under Chris Hughton and have

strengthened their squad in the summer. Pragmatism may always win the

day at Carrow Road but the club have moved quickly to strengthen options

up front and Gary Hooper and Ricky van Wolfswinkel should get plenty of

support from a midfield which contributed some vital goals last term.

Their home form (8-7-4) was a major factor in avoiding relegation and

there''s some temptation to side with the hosts at odds-against in the

draw-no-bet market given that Everton look far too short but, with

Hooper a doubt and new players to bed in, it looks best not to get

involved.

Verdict: Norwich 1 Everton 1

I believe this is a winnable game. We''ve now got the strength and depth in the team to make home games against the vast majority of teams winnable.

Norwich 2 - 1 Everton

Realistically, on our day we can beat Everton with ease now.I have a superstitious feeling that we''ll play the better football in spells but fail to capitalise.1-1, (v. Wolfs 26'') (Mirallas 67'')

"beat Everton with ease now"...........I am sure that Everton will feel the same way about us, and even with our new players they still have the better squad I feel. For me, this is a very tricky first home game, particularly with Bassong in particular missing and with them having a new Manager to impress. Feilani will be the difference if he is on his game, so a great home competitive debut by RVW will be required to get the points for us, I''m going for a good performance and a share of the points at best...................

My prediction is :-

Norwich City 3      Wiganerton 1

(Well they''ve taken so many Wigan players and staff I''m surprised they haven''t nicked the FA Cup too!)

From what I''ve heard Everton have played some good footie recently albeit in pre season, and with players like Baines, Fellaini and the outstanding Mirelles in the side, we''re in for a tough afternoon. Martinez isn''t overly confident though from I''ve read on the Pink''un home page - infact he''s already calling for patience from the Goodison Park faithful!. Anyway, if we''re really ''on it'' today I''ll go with... A thumping 4-1 with v.Wolfswinkel scoring a brace, Snodgrass and MOTM Howson netting the other 2, Mirelles replying for the Toffees.

Time for our opening day of the season jinx to end surely?

0-2
expectations are high and I would not be surprised to see Everton put a dent in that.

Honours even at 1-1. Both goals at the Barclay end. Jimmy Bone will put us ahead but Joe Royle will equalise with a header in the second half.
