The best is yet to come!

Recommended Posts

Looking at our squad yesterday, having so many important players missing we showed that we have quality without those big players!

Russell Martin was awesome yesterday along with Whottaker Redmond etc.

There were hardly any faults in out team! With Fer, Hooper, Snodgrass, Bassong and Pilkington to come back, we are looking quite strong! Yes it''s early days!

Hull Team I think should be is,

Ruddy

Whittaker Martin Bassong. Olsson

Fer Johnson

E.Bennett. Howson. Redmond

Van Wolfswinkel

I think Olsson adds pace in attack and that looks like hulls weakness attack. He should work well with Redmond. Bennett Howson Fer Van Wolfswinkel and Redmond can add a decent counter Bassong rock in defence to sure it up and Whittaker also an attacking threat!

What do you think?

I think that''s not a bad looking team but Turner is a better centreback than Martin.

If Snodgrass is fully match fit then he has to be one of the first names on the team sheet, we need him to feed the wolf.

Only reason I haven''t dropped E.Bennett is because he had such a good game yesterday so you can''t just drop him after that, give him a run in the team. Also as I said Hull are vunrable to pace, so get some pace in the side crosses coming in and counter attacks and score more goals!

No Snodgrass and no Pilkington leaves us without a dead ball specialist, and Hull conceded a direct free kick from just outside the area against Chelsea. OK so it was a world class strike by Frank Lampard, but the point remains valid.
Garrido and Bennett like to think that they can take a good free kick but never seen much evidence of it, in my opinion no Pilks and no Snoddy means no serious dead ball threat.

Just look at Bennett assists against Swansea for turners goal dead ball, great ball in, he is a good striker of the ball! Bennett is a cofidence player and to gain confidence you need to play! Also look at some of the crosses Bennett put from corners and free kicks. Great balls in, floated in waiting for someone to out it in the back of the net until oliver called for fouls for no reason! I think we could see the best of Bennett this season! And also we haven''t seen redmond take one yet.

Seb and Fer will definitely improve the team and I woulod have them straight back in

Snodgrass and Pilks less so on Sats showing - Bennett was excellent and Redmond MOTM.    Dont think either deserve to be dropped after their performances - even for Snoddy.

Assuming Snoddy and hooper are fit I would start

Ruddy

Martin  Seb  Turner Garrido

       Tettey  Fer

 Bennett  Wes   Redmond

           Wolfie

Subs

Bunn Whittaker Bennett Hooper Howson Snodgrass Johnson

Whittaker doesn''t deserve to be dropped either though, in my opinon he was man of the match! Going foward he was always an attacking threat and defence he seemed to keep baited and pienaar restricted and everything that was happening came down the right for Everton!

If Snodgrass is fit then he will come in for Wes.

I know I will get abuse but Wes was pretty ordinary on Saturday and lost the ball in bad areas on numerous occasions.

Ruddy

Garrido Bassong Turner Martin

Johnson

Snodgrass Fer Redmond

Howson

The Wolf

Very happy to have whittaker in the squad and if he starts thats ok,  but RB main job is to defend - and I think Russ is better at that thats all.    Dont think he was close to MOTM though.  Solid.

Both the goal and assist had an element of fortune in them,   the decision to run at distin (?) for the first was the wrong one, he only bypassed him due to a couple of ricochets - you make you own luck though and both the shot and finish were first class.

Garrido and Bennett are just as good at deadballs as Snodgrass.   However, Snodgrass inisists and gets away with taking nearly all the free-kicks.  They have to stand up to him to get a chance.  Garrido, on past evidence at MC, has a superb free-kick in him.

A tad harsh - surely not the wrong thing to run at defenders - the fact that he tried to run at defenders caused panic, as it did against Swansea last season.

                        Ruddy

Whittaker   Turner   Bassong   Garrido

                  Fer        Johnson

   Bennett       Howson         Redmond

                        RvW

Subs:- Bunn, Olsson, Martin, Tettey, Hoolahan, Snodgrass, Hooper

I can see this being the line-up we go with. Snoddy and Hooper to come on and then Tettey if needed otherwise Olsson to get more minutes for Garrido or Redmond.

The worrying this here is that I forgot Pilks! Anyone know his injury status? If he''s fully fit then he''ll be back in the line-up for Redmond possibly, but then who does Redmond replace on the bench? I''ve also moved R Bennett out of that subs bench. It''s a nice problem to have, but a fully fit match squad will leave some decent players out altogether..

Plus Ayala, Fox and Becchio probably out of the picture if you look to Hooper coming back...kind of brutal on Becchio, but can''t think of anything else CH would do. Would Tettey or Hoolahan drop out of that bench to let Pilks in??
