Gingerpele 0 Posted August 23, 2013 Even though normally I''d be an advocate of English man as head coach/manager, even at U21 level I think what we really need at youth level at the moment is influence from other nations, taking their experience and techniques to improve. And more importantly to improve our coaches and set ups so the English guys can coach the English kids to an adequate level. Other players seem to benefit from spending times in other countries, it helps them and their national team, we need that. More English players abroad, and probably foreign coaches here with more emphasis on English youngsters rather than just buying in the best foreign players. The valence is pretty poor at the moment, far too many of the top division clubs ignore their own youth products/local area players. Just look at Chelsea''s U18 squad... Salopian 1 Posted August 23, 2013 His assessment and judgement are second to none. If he has enough courage and conviction as well, then there could be a revival. Several at our club, including Redders and the twins, could have gratitude f9r his appointment.
