If we sell Bennett to Villa, as has been mooted, it seems that Brighton, his former club, would get part of the proceeds via a sell-on clause. The amount was described by Brighton as "reasonable", so don''t expect us to get the full value of what Villa pay!

Sell on clauses are generally done as a % of profit made on a future sale, rather than a set fee.

Brighton might see 30% as "reasonable", but as he''s only got a year left on his contract and didn''t get much game time last year, any fee we get (if we sell, which I doubt very much) isn''t likely to be much, if anything, above what we paid Brighton.
