Another Leeds Signing - Byram

Recommended Posts

Great prospect but hardly a position we need cover in I would have thought....Isn''t he a Right Back?

Comfortable at right back / right wing and across central midfield. Quite a versatile player. Would be a good signing at the right price

Nobody forced that club to sell those players to us.

Nobody forced those players to come to Carrow Road.

NCFC had nothing to do with the disaster that befell Leeds United and neither should we be singled out, with such venom, for the consequences of that disaster.

Absurd logic borne out of understandable frustration and envy. You could almost hear the tears.

This should be included in the other Leeds thread but I can''t find my edit button today in order to change it and make the switch.

This could be a baseless rumour, although a number of people have commented that Byram is the only player worth anything at Leeds, and a very good defender. There is also the rumour (Nursey?)  that things are progressing with Olsson, but Nursey''s reputation has suffered a little recently.

I have to admit that whilst we don''t really need any more right sided defenders, I think Byram is a great talent and could make the right back slot his own by the end of the season. If Russ is happy to play backup for a central role, that would give us Whittaker and Byram on the right, with Garrido and A/N other on the left (R.Bennett or Whittaker can also cover if we don''t bring a specialist in).For the right price I think he''d be an excellent signing and at times you have to take the opportunities when you can as waiting can mean you miss out altogether and next season I think it more than possible that a top six side would be in for him (assuming he continues to play and develop at his current rate).

I had my suspicions with Becchio but if we sign Byram ,who plays in a position where we are probably best covered in our whole team....I will genuinely believethat we are doing this just to pi55 off Leeds?!

Especially if we send him out on loan straight away! [:D]

It depends if we are merely signing players to be able to immediately go into the first team or if signibg like this are part of a longer term strategy, where we are planning for years ahead.I believe a number of our under 19 squad were signed only recently from other clubs, as was the young keeper from Luton. For every £10m Carlos Kickaball (as at QPR) the club can sign a number of promising teenagers. players who would probably cost those high fees a few years down the line.Certainly the transfer policy seems to be different to that of many other clubs in our position. If it works then we could be looking to beak into those top 6 or 7 places in a few years time.
