According to 'The Guardian' we've after...

"Norwich poised to sign German Under 19s striker Hans Babel of  Hallescher FC. The forward netted 28 goals in all competitions last season." The Guardian

To be honest I stopped believing this as soon as the word "Guardian" came up.

Usually not the best place for football transfers. Cricket yes. Football no.

But stranger things have happened. If we did sign him I could see him being sent out on loan for a season, because the step up from Hallescher to the EPL is a very big one and would probably need to have a stepping stone in the middle.
I can''t find anything about this player at all.

Anyone got any info on him?
I think he''s German, after that I''ve got nothing. Have heard of the team before but no individual player.

Why make up such a dumb rumour? At least choose a player that actually exists!

What a baffling story! - reminds me of the time Mrs Mustard returned from the hairdressers having heard the local sports news:

Mrs M: "Just heard on the radio Norwich have signed a new player from Preston".

Me and my eldest: "Really? - who''s that?"

Mrs M: "Oh I can''t remember...Royston Wah-Wah or something..."

Me & my eldest (puzzled & in unison): WHO?

Mrs M: "He used to play for Manchester City too apparently"... "Is there a player called Royston Wah-Wah then?"...

Me & my eldest (again in unison): "NO! - who on earth are you talking about?"

We logged on to the computer to discover we''d signed Dickson Etuhu!

That is a classic.

I think Royston Wah-Wah should appear on a more regular basis!

Perhaps it''s 26 yr old Ajax midfielder (ex-Liverpool) Ryan Babel.

He''ll get on well with our Ryan, as he famously posted a picture of Howard Web in a Man U shirt on Twitter and got fined 10K for it back in 2011.
