sgncfc 1,223 Posted July 5, 2013 Reading that Samba has just gone back to Russia for £12m and comparing the £3.2m max for Redmond with the £8m for Thomas Ince and the £6m for Shelvey, all makes me think there are some really stupid people out there forcing up fees for not particularly good players.Samba was made to look a bit of a donkey last season, yet still commands £12m? Ince is unproven; Shelvey has barely played in the PL.Yet Pilks is supposedly worth only £5m, after two successful PL seasons. Snoddy probably a similar amount.Victor Wanyama worth £11.5m? Are they serious? He has played one season in Scotland!
6088m canary 0 Posted July 5, 2013 To be fair it probably says more about the state of a lot of clubs "scouting".Wanyama´s fee is that large due to what exactly? Id imagine hes on a long contract, also he was their best performer against Barca no?It´s akin to signing players who had one or two cracking games in a WC or Euros....Pilks is a good player yes, but not consistant enough for the top 4. So we would essentially be selling to the likes of Fulham etc...5mill is about right in that case. Perhaps 6 like Shelvey. Shelvey´s fee is mainly based on age and that he came from a "top" club. Chip20 69 Posted July 5, 2013 The mind boggles at the thought of the kind of games one might play in a WC!!!Especially, er, ''cracking'' games!
