Radio piece - Grant Holt on leaving Norwich for Wigan

Recommended Posts

He''s saying all the right things, but by the sound of it, he feels he''s gone downhill a little and couldn''t keep pace with Norwich''s progression.

To me it sounded as though he knew he wasn''t going to get a look in because of RVW (which as you say is down to NCFC''s progression)and at this stage in his career the chance to play in Europe was a big draw rather than just sitting in the stands most games. Decent little interview.

He said he''d gone as far as he could with Norwich, which may be true. I think he could have done a job for another year. But I''m slowly coming to terms with it and maybe he''s right. I''ll follow Wigan next season and hope the big man does well.

Good luck Holty.

There was an air of resignation in his voice I felt. We''re rightly bringing in technically better players to push us into the top 10, and Grant knew his role would be changing dramatically. I imagine although he will be glad to be back up North, part of him is genuinley sad to have been sold.

A real NCFC icon. Thanks & good luck.
