pablofarmer 0 Posted July 12, 2013 Bt doesn''t betting follow what money has been put down rather than information, apart from when betting us suspended?
ReadingCanary 0 Posted July 12, 2013 Betting is generally suspended when a large amount of money is put on a certain bet.It suggests to the bookmaker that someone is "in the know" and the deal is almost completeIf you were to get 100 people put £1000 on Suarez joining Norwich though it would probably have the same effectIt''s not a reliable way of telling whether a deal is near
CJ 0 Posted July 12, 2013 Betting is only a guide, many a player has been evens or better and still not moved.Fer delay will be all about medical after Everton issue in Jan we will need to be certain he is OK, suspectwe have asked for some expert opinions as insuranceI am quite surprised at how low some odds are , just hope we end up with more than two strikers on the books
Fleckys Flip-Flop 0 Posted July 12, 2013 It''s not entirely about money being put on. It''s a combination of that AND information. The big bookies have teams of people working very much like risk assessors. They obviously have to set odds and very frequently have people in the know feeding them info. Betting will suspend when they feel a deal is likely. These odds suggest nothing is really seen as certain. 1/2 isn''t short enough to suggest they are confident. If they felt a deal was likely you would be seeing odds of around 1/5 - 1/10. Fer wasn''t an open market, although odds availiable on request, because there haven''t been a number of clubs linked with him.
Joanna Grey 0 Posted July 12, 2013 Thanks for that FFF, it''s quite obvious that a lot of people here do not know how it works (judging by past Threads).

Why would they even give 1/3, 1/4, 1/5 on something that is almost certain to happen.
