or something how else can you explain this.

...In 1981...
Prince Charles got married
Ken and Deirdre got married (Coronation Street)
There was a new Doctor Who
Liverpool finished fifth in the League
Liverpool won 17 league games
Norwich were relegated
Crystal Palace were relegated
Liverpool won the European Cup
There was a new Pope

In 2005...
Prince Charles got married
Ken and Deirdre got married (Coronation Street)
There was a new Doctor Who
Liverpool finished fifth in the League
Liverpool won 17 league games
Norwich were relegated
Crystal Palace were relegated
Liverpool won the European Cup
There was a new Pope
Denis Davies

I for one will be watching coronation street
far more often, let''s pray they isn''t a second
divorce.

i think im right in saying the canaries have been promoted as champs 3 times.they were champions in 71-72, 85-86, and how can we forget 2003-4.

You are correct Stephen.

Oddly enough we have never been promoted to the top division in second place as on the other two occasions in 74-75 and 81-82 we finished third.

The previous time we were relegated (94-95) was also the first time we did not go back up at the first attempt.

So it''s 1st in 2005-06 then.

I have to say this whole thread smacks of "Sceptic Smeg"!Whether we stay up or down, win or lose is not down to stars,Worthington in uranus or any other mumbo-jumbo,our assault on div1. will be just like last time ,down to hard work ,team spirit and skill.

Er, there wasn''t a new Pope in 1981 - JPII became Pope in 1978. Another urban myth bites the dust.

ricko your right, see thats what you get for
believing people on other websites, hence filet''s
point about the pope being called denis davies

anyway it''s still a lot of coincidences. but like someone
said it''s on the pitch where it really counts.
