Michael Starr 519 Posted July 15, 2013 Lately there appears to be quite a few foreign trailists kicking around our development / youth teams. Is this a sign on change in our academy? Are the Jarvis / Martin / Smith''s of the world fizzling ou for foreign importst?! Where are we getting them from?Jimenez, Alate, Vidal and Alang all played today. Gingerpele 0 Posted July 15, 2013 How many foreign players were in the U18 FA cup winning side?If we have a wider pool to select from thats only a good thing, doesn''t mean English and/or local players won''t be in the youth academy, just means there may be a few (maybe a fair few) foreign players alongside them. Mister Chops 7 Posted July 15, 2013 "Are the Jarvis / Martin / Smith''s of the world fizzling ou for foreign importst?! Where are we getting them from?"Probably not "fizzling out" but the broader the catchment area, the better the chance we''ll hoover up some quality. And I''m pretty sure that even if nothing comes of it, playing with and hanging out with youngsters from different cultures & countries will help our local lads learn a bit more about the world.Where are we getting them from? No idea.
Joanna Grey 0 Posted July 15, 2013 Without a forename we can''t really find out anything about them. Alarte tweeted so we know he is a 20 year old who was on the Books at Real Betis B. I''m sure that if we decide to sign them we will find out more. There is no doubt that we, as a fish, are getting bigger.
CambridgeCanary 0 Posted July 15, 2013 Have you checked the backgrounds of the Youth Cup team? Very few are local or long term city recruits. Nothing wrong with that but kids are much more mobile now than even five years ago.
