Fabio Quagliarella

Why not have another comment on a player we won''t sign.Any slim chance we had of signing him will surely go flying out of the window at breakneck speed if he were to see any of today''s game at the KC.

Sounds like West Ham are switching to other targets and may be moving away from Quagliarella if the reports of them only wanting an initial loan deal and Juve preferring a straight sale are correct. Still it goes on! Be interesting to see how much of an anti-climax it turns out to be come 2nd Sept. Yesterday''s game shows that we really need a player of his ilk in that shadow striker role.

He has the same dilemma as Alderwhatdoyoucallhim!

Offers from mid table prem and Russian CL representatives but interest from higher up the food chain.

Russia: Money great, CL good, League not good, Lifestyle not good

Mid Table Prem: Money good, league good, no europe not good, lifestyle alright

Staying (Quag) Money good, league good, europe good, lifestyle great, no football not good

Staying (Toby) Money not good, league not good, europe great, lifestyle great, plenty of football good.

The main difference is Alderwiereld is wanted at Ajax and playing regulary, vice-captain as well and he''s happy to stay there unless an attractive offer to him comes in. That''s why there is absolutely no hope in him signing for Norwich.

Quagliarella is being pushed towards the door by Juve and faces not getting a single game all season unless he leaves - although as Matri is now on the verge of a move to Milan Quagliarella has been moved slightly closer to the first team.

Problem for Toby is that the dutch league isn''t where he ultimately wants to be. He has a tall order as it is getting ahead of Kompany and Vertongen in the Belgium line up, those two are possibly the best pairing in europe!

Vertonghen doesn''t play CB for Belgium, he plays LB.

Also, we aren''t signing ''Toby'' and we aren''t signing Quagliarella, so I don''t see why this thread remains so popularr.
You sure vermaelen doesnt play LB
Would you please keep on topic? These 70 pages of nonsense are not about center backs. If you want to discus center backs that we are not going to sign there is the Alderwield thread for that than you very much.

It is (mildly) interesting that there is an equally long thread on the Juve fans forum, with many similar views expressed on here. Nice fans are not fully in agreement, many rating Qusgliarella highly (even at their current level as one of the best teams in Europe). I would observe that they all have a greater tendency to support the club and what''s best for the club. To those of you that are negative about what amounts to the most successful period for 20 years, plus £25m of well-directed summer spending, be careful what you wish for. Status quo stability us enormous success. It is easy to gamble/entertain/ play to the gallery when you have nothing to lose. When standing still is - in effect - a massive step forward year on year (due to finances and the ability to improve the team/squad), "managing" the club conservstively becomes more important than messianic gambling. Don''t blame Hughton, blame Murdoch.

Well the poker odds would be that he stays put. Juve are a fabulous club and 5th choice with medals round your neck and CL football (whilst bring well paid) is no bad position. Nevertheless there is a loss of "bella figura" in being overtly deemed surplus to requirements and de-facto requested/encouraged to leave. Pride and image drives many an Itsluan decision. Next most likely us a last-minute bid from a top half "name" Italian club (say Roma), with a promise to fight for the shirt, but perhaps 1st replacement in reality. If there is still the desire for one last adventure and a bit of trendy headlining, then going to the PL.", to a club that us desperate for you, with a promise of fans idolising you, in the key (Italian) fantasista 10 role and somewhere that will match your current wages, then why not us? A but if Shakespearean psychology comes into this too, Hughton made a big effort for him, showed him love, turned up at his door (well training...but thus is very respectfuland appreciated in Italy, especially from abroad)...what has he not had at Juve? Despite 2 titles... That Shakespeare was a wise fool.....

Kompany and Van Buyten are first choice centre backs for Belgium, with Vertongen on the left and Alderweireld on the right.

Back to Quagliarella - the Juventus club president Marotta has said that if Matri is sold to Milan (which is happening today) then Quagliarella will only be sold if a replacement is brought in - they currently aren''t looking for a replacement.

Basically, after these 70 wonderful pages of discussion about Quagliarella - he isn''t even going to be sold it seems.

Not long now till this mammoth thread comes to a conclusion ;) ... Roma favourites, Arsenal are also rumoured apparently and West Ham''s name is still in the mix tonight. Whatever happens, this bloke will go down in Pink''un folklore after this thread!
