Canarygeorge 0 Posted June 17, 2013 It feels like that eerie silence that you get just before a storm surge.David McNally, City site, Archant Towers etc. All keeping quiet before it all takes off with transfer madness, in and out in the next 2 or 3 weeks. Salopian 1 Posted June 17, 2013 I''m hoping that things are still going on at CR, and that we shall announce most of the new names together at the beginning of July, in time to get down to serious training as a squad. Dribbling in of new players must be a distraction, and with different fitness levels. The worst fear, of course, is that we fail in our preferred targets, and we are still scrapping round for lesser towards the end of the window, as we did last year. Anyone for Kane again? Tetteys Jig 830 Posted June 17, 2013 At least the big signing we needed is done already. RVW and Holt wouldn''t be the end of the world. We now just need to add pace.
Number 9 0 Posted June 17, 2013 Jimmy, ONE OF the big new signings is complete.
Indy 3,232 Posted June 17, 2013 Let''s not forget Gerrido, that''s another big signing. Not sure what we paid for him from Lazio but that''s LB sorted too.
Gaz06 0 Posted June 17, 2013 Our first signing last season (Whittaker) was announced 30th June. The season before that we started signing players around late May. I would expect us to announce further signings quite soon. But like others have said, it all depends on how easy the negotiations go with other clubs. PurpleCanary 5,530 Posted June 17, 2013 There are (including today) 76 days to go before the transfer window shuts. Fact.

As the transfers progress players who weren''t available early in the window will suddenly become available and prices can dramatically drop as a club becomes desperate to sell, due to having too many players, contract situations or needing a bit of money to facilitate another transfer for themselves. Don''t want to blow all the cash in the first few days, only to find out player who was considered unavailble to suddenly come on the market. The classic example of this is van derVaart who was offered to several clubs on the last day of the transfer window (due to a transfer elsewhere collapsing), the only team to have some budget left was Tottenham who picked him up for a budget £8m.
