Graham Carr?

Recommended Posts

It is reported that Carr the highly respected Newcastle scout is considering his position after the Kinnear fiasco at Newcastle. If he leaves there will be no shortage of clubs wanting his services but could Hughton use his old Newcastle links to lure him here? If he could then it would enhance our existing scouting options to help our progress as a club within reasonable financial; constraints

I follow the French league a lot and there is a lot of talent to be purchased over there on the cheap..Wouldn''t mind him picking us up a few of them

If only to get his son down for the half time entertainment!

I''m unsure about this french influx thing. One or two wanting to prove themselves, maybe, but not 15 or whatever amount it is Newcastle have bought. We don''t need unsettling.

Is he chief scout, and have we lost ours (Chester?) - to Leicester of anywhere?

If we still have a chief scout, are you suggesting jacking him?

Why not? The Galloping Gourmet would complement Delia''s catering business nicely.

Actually all those brilliant bargains Carr is getting the credit for were spotted by Joe Kinnear and signed by Newcastle (even though he wasn''t working for them) on his say-so. Kinnear also realised the potential of Alfredo di Stefano while he was on a scouting trip in Colombia in 1953, at the age of seven, and recommended him to Real Madrid. It was Kinnear who persuaded Darren Huckerby to sign for us, against the wishes of his agent.Kinnear also invented the world wide web (but with typical modesty let Tim Berners-Lee take the credit)  and behind the scènes brokered the Northern Ireland peace accords. He is currently working on a two-state solution to the Palestinian Problem, and a cure for flat feet.
